Three SSC Teams Secure NCAA Bids.

 After a crazy weekend of conference tournaments three teams from the Sunshine State conference have secured births in the South Regional Tournament. The #1 team in the country and only undefeated team left will be top seed and host, they will face eight seeded Savannnah State. Union (Tn) will be the fourth seed and take on fifth seeded Miles. On the bottom half of the bracket, second seeded Barry will face seventh seeded Alabama Huntsville. Yenor Garners All-SSC First Team Honors.

 Junior Guard Hutton Yenor has been named All Sunshine State Conference First Team by the league's coaches. The Timber Creek product led Rollins and is third in the SSC putting up 21.2 points per game. This included shooting 48 percent from the field and 81 percent from the free throw line for the season. Yenor scored 20 points 19 times this season. His 145 rebounds were second on the team and he dished out a team third best 91 assists for the year. He was third in the conference getting 62 steals as well. Yenor also eclipsed the 1,000 point mark earlier in the season in a win over Eckerd.   Yenor was joined on the all conference team by Sekou Sylla (Player Of The Year,) RJ Sunahara (Defensive Player Of The Year.) Romeo Crouch (Embry-Riddle) and Max Jones (Tampa) rounded out the first team selections. Rollins Falls To Barry In SSC Quarterfinals.

 The Rollins Tars held a 20-7 lead at one point on Tuesday, led by nine (37-28) at halftime but were out scored 51-27 in the second half as they were defeated 79-65 by Barry in the SSC Quarterfinals at the Barry Health and Sports Center.   A Kyle Marion 3-pointer gave Rollins a 7-5 lead more than three minutes into this one. This would be the start of a 16-2 Rollins run that opened up the largest lead of the game, 20-7 after a Hutton Yenor three-point play at the 12:20 mark of the first half. Barry would score the next eight points to pull within five (20-15) before Cody Potter came off the Rollins bench to knock down a 3-pointer and another basket that stretched the Tars lead back to double digits (25-15) with 7:40 to go until halftime. Sixth Seeded Rollins To Battle Third Seeded Barry In SSC Quarterfinals In Miami Shores.

 The sixth seeded Rollins Tars (14-14 9-11 SSC) will battle the third seeded Barry Buccaneers (18-7 13-7 SSC) in the Sunshine State Conference Quarterfinals sponsored by S3 design.  At the Barry Sport and Health Center. The game is scheduled to tip at 7 PM. You can catch all the action on the Sunshine State Conference Digital Network at SusnhineStateConference.TV and on 91.5 FM WPRK Winter Park with Jim "Shooter" Ferro and Robert Siegel on the call.   Rollins fell 93-70 at Lynn on Saturday. It was the team's third consecutive loss. The Tars have upset Barry twice this season and will look for a third straight against the Buccaneers on Tuesday. In the game against Lynn Hutton Yenor paced Rollins with 22, Brooks Cluxton added 19, and Kyle Marion tallied 12.
