Yenor Garners All-SSC First Team Honors.
Junior Guard Hutton Yenor has been named All Sunshine State Conference First Team by the league's coaches. The Timber Creek product led Rollins and is third in the SSC putting up 21.2 points per game. This included shooting 48 percent from the field and 81 percent from the free throw line for the season. Yenor scored 20 points 19 times this season. His 145 rebounds were second on the team and he dished out a team third best 91 assists for the year. He was third in the conference getting 62 steals as well. Yenor also eclipsed the 1,000 point mark earlier in the season in a win over Eckerd.
Yenor was joined on the all conference team by Sekou Sylla (Player Of The Year,) RJ Sunahara (Defensive Player Of The Year.) Romeo Crouch (Embry-Riddle) and Max Jones (Tampa) rounded out the first team selections. The second team consisted of Nick Smith (Nova Southeastern,) EJ Damberville (Florida Southern,) Elijah Jenkins (Embry-Riddle,) Jake Kakar (Barry,) and Christina Peevy (Lynn.)
The all newcomer team was Sylla (Nova Southeastern,) Michael Schaefer (Barry,) GianFranco Gafals (Eckerd,) Bryan Williams (Tampa,) and Landon Kirkwood (Barry.)
The Coach Of the Year was Jim Crutchfield (Nova Southeastern) while Freshman Of The Year honors went to Will Lee (Palm Beach Atlantic.)
Rollins was the sixth seed in the SSC Tournament and fell 79-64 to third seeded Barry in the SSC Quarterfinals to finish the season at 14-15.
