Tars Take Care Of Business on Wednesday.

 The Rollins College Tars played in the third game of a three game in three nights stretch walked away with a 86-75 win over the Puerto Rico Bayamon Vaqueors at Warden Arena on Wednesday. With the win Rollins improved to 5-2 on the season, while the Vaqueros dropped to 0-2 on the young campaign. 

 Hutton Yenor led Rollins with 21 points, Cade Long netted 19. while Kyle Marion had 13 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and three steals. 

 Bryan Gonzalez paced Bayamon with 27, while Sebastien Santiago knocked down five triples on his way to 18 points. 

 The Tars jumped out to a 9-5 lead after a Long 3-pointer four minutes in. The next four points would go to the Vaqueros before a Yenor dunk put Rollins back on top. Halfway through the first stanza after a Will Erickson 3-pointer the Tars opened up a six point advantage. Bayamon would battle back and retake the lead 27-26 with 5:15 in the opening stanza. The Tars would open up a seven point (40-33) lead as the teams headed to the locker room. 

 Bayamon battled back and would take the lead back (47-44) after a Bryan Gonzalez 3-pointer with 15:09 remaining. Rollins would score the next six points, but the Vaqueros would respond with the next seven. After a 3-pointer by Yenor and a Sergey Grishaev pair of free throws it was 55-54 Tars lead with 10:32 left on the clock. The two teams would trade baskets until Rollins went on a 7-0 run that included a Long 3-pointer, a jumper by Marion, and another Long basket to make it 66-59 with 4:59 to go. The lead would be trimmed to three before the Tars stretched it to eight (77-69) after a Matej Susec basket with 2:10 left. The Tars would close it out down the stretch for the victory. 

 The Tars shot 53 percent from the field, 26 percent (8-31) from the free throw line and 88 percent (14-16) at the free throw line. They also won the rebounding battle 39-32. The Tars had 17 assists and 12T turnovers in this one. 

 Bayamon shot 41 percent from the field, 46 percent (13-28) from the 3-point line, and 59 percent (10-17) from the free throw line. They had 18 assists, and 10 turnovers in the contest.

 The Tars will be back in action December 1st when they host Embry-Riddle. Tip time is set for 7:30 PM.
