#1 Lubbock Christian Outlasts Tars.

 The Rollins Tars and Lubbock Christian Chaps did battle in Las Vegas, Nevada on Saturday Night as the Chaps came away with a 77-60 win. With the win the Chaps improved to 11-0 on the year while the Tars fell to 6-5 in defeat. 

 Rollins got off to a good start as Brooks Cluxton went five for five early as Rollins took a 19-15 lead 12 minutes in. The Chaps took the first lead they had in the game at the 7:23 mark 23-22. The lead was three before a Dayton Hummer layup cut it to one (27-26) before a 8-0 run closed the half for the Chaps to go up 35-26. The Tars shot 44 percent in the opening half but went just 2 of 11 from the 3-point line. They cashed in on both free throw attempts on the night. The Chaps shot 52 percent from the field and went just 3 of 14 from the 3-point line. They were a perfect four of four at the charity stripe. 

 The Tars scored the first four points of the second half and got with  five (35-30) after a pair of Sergey Grishaeav free throws at the 18:44 mark of the contest. Rollins again was within four (39-35) after a Marion basket at the 15:32 mark. It was a four point game (47-43) with 12:35 to go after a pair of Hutton Yenor free throws before the Chaps stretched the lead back to double digits at the 8:33 mark. The lead was eight (57-49) with 8:49 to go after a pair of Yenor free throws and a Cluxton jumper cut it to six with seven minutes to go but that is as close as they would get. A 15-2 run by the Chaps would seal it. 

 Cluxton led four Tars in double figures with 16 points to go along with eight boards. Yenor added 13, while both Marion and Grishaev added 11. They shot 42 percent as a team, 21 percent (5-24) from the 3-point line, and 85 percent (11-13) from the free throw line. 

 The Chaps were led by Jordan Hicks with 20 to go with 10 rebounds, Lloyd Daniels added 19, Ammer Muhammed added 17, and Jalen Brattain netted 13. They shot 52 percent from the field, 36 percent (10-28) from the 3-point line, and were a perfect 13 of 13 at the free throw line. The Chaos won the rebounding battle 31-24.
