Rollins Travels To Tampa Wednesday.

 The Rollins Tars travel to the Bob Martinez Sports Center to take on the University of Tampa Spartans on Wednesday night. Tip time is set for 7:30 PM and you can catch all the action on RollinsSports.com and on 91.5 FM WPRK Winter Park with Jim "Shooter" Ferro and Robert Siegel on the call. 

 Rollins (7-8 2-5 SSC) is coming off  88-82 loss to #3 Nova Southeastern last time out. The Tars were led by Hutton Yenor with 26, Dayton Gumm tallied 17, Cade Long scored 15, and Brooks Cluxton netted 14. The Tars shot 53 percent from the floor, 40 percent from the 3-point line (8-20) and 78 percent (18-23) from the free throw line. Rollins averages 78.9 points per game as a team while they allow 80.2 points per contest. They shoot 48 percent from the field, 38 percent from the 3-point line, and 75 percent at the free throw line. They are being out-rebounded by 1.8 (35.1-36.9) boards per contest. They also get 17.5 assists a game as a team. Yenor leads the team in scoring at 18.4 per game, Kyle Marion gets 18 per contest, and Brooks Cluxton scores 10.5 per night. Cluxton leads the team grabbing 8.6 rebounds per contest, while Gumm leads the team in assists (33 in 14 games.) 

Tampa (9-3 5-2 SSC) is riding a five game win streak. Last time out they were a 92-72 winner over Florida Tech. Max Jones paced the Spartans with 21 points, Johnathan Bryant added 19, De'Andre Harvey and Martin Lakovich each scored 13, while Derrick Felder netted 12. UT shot 52 percent from the field, 55 percent (12-22) from the 3-point line, and 61 percent (14-23) at the free throw line. As a team the Spartans average 80.6 points per game, while they allow 74.2 per night. Max Jones leads the team in scoring at 20.6 points per game, Felder gets 10.2 per contest, and Bryant scores 10.1 per night.

 The Rollins College Tars went down to Miami Shores and picked up their first conference win of the season as they knocked off Barry 86-79. With the win Rollins improves to 4-4 and 1-2 in the SSC. Tars Set To Battle Eckerd Wednesday.

 The Rollins College Tars return home to face the Eckerd College Tritons on Wednesday at Warden Arena. Marion, Silveira, Barnhizer combine for 51 in Road Loss To Florida Tech.

 Rollins College got a combined 51 points from the trio of Matheus Silveira, Kyle Marion, and Braxton Barnhizer but it was not nearly enough in a 96-73 road loss to Florida Tech at the Charles & Ruth Clemente Center. With the loss Rollins drops to 3-3 (0-1 SSC.) The Panthers improve to a perfect 6-0 on the season.   Barnhizer hit a pair of 3-pointer's in the games first 1:47 and the Tars led 6-1. Chase Thompson and Rashaan Edwards hit triples of their own to put the Panthers up 7-6. Barnhizer's third straight triple gave Rollins a 9-7 lead at the 16:55 mark of the first half. The lead was short-lived as a 3-pointer and a layup by Thompson put FIT ahead by a score of 12-9. Silveira and McCullough traded dunks before a Silveira jumper trimmed the Panthers lead to one (14-13) five minutes into this one.
