Tars Travel To Saint Leo Saturday.

 The Rollins College Tars (7-9 2-6 SSC) travel to Saint Leo to battle the Lions on Saturday. Tip time is set for 2PM at the Marion Bowman Activities Center. You can catch all the action on the Sunshine State Digital Network and 91.5 FM WPRK with Jim "Shooter' Ferro and Robert Siegel on the call. 

Last time out the Tars were a 86-77 loser at Tampa. Hutton Yenor led Rollins with 22, Kyle Marion had 16, and Cade Long netted 15. They shot 44 percent from the field, 38 percent (12-32) from the 3-point line, and 50 percent (1-2) at the free throw line. As a team Rollins scores 78.8 points per game, while they allow 80.6 per contest. They shoot 48 percent from the field and 38 percent from 3-point range, as well as 75 percent from the free throw line. On the glass they are being out-rebounded by 2.5 (34.9-37.4) boards per contest. Yenor paces the Tars in scoring at 18.7 points per game, Marion puts up 17.9 per night, and Brooks Cluxton gets 10.5 per game. Cluxton leads the team on the glass grabbing 8.6 rebounds per contest, while Marion leads the team in assists. 

 Saint Leo (6-8 3-5 SSC) is coming off a 99-90 road win over Florida Southern last time out. Wade Commer poured in 27 points to lead the Lions, Jared Coomer netted 24, Francis Sio tallied 16, Cantia Rahming netted 13, and Frank Webb Jr. tallied 10. They shot 55 percent as a team, 48 percent (15-31) from the 3-point line, and 70 percent (14-20) from the free throw line. As a team they score 82.3 points per game, while they give up 79.9 per contest. They shoot 47 percent from the field and 37 percent from the 3-point line. They are also being out-rebounded by 3.1 boards per night (36.1-39.2 rebounds per night.) Francis leads the way scoring 15 points per game, Coomer puts up 14.4 per night, Webb gets 14.2 per contest, and Jared Commer scores 13.9 per contest. Webb leads the team in rebounding at 7.7 per night, while he also leads the team in assists at just under three per game.

 The Rollins College Tars went down to Miami Shores and picked up their first conference win of the season as they knocked off Barry 86-79. With the win Rollins improves to 4-4 and 1-2 in the SSC.  The Rollins College Tars return home to face the Eckerd College Tritons on Wednesday at Warden Arena. Marion, Silveira, Barnhizer combine for 51 in Road Loss To Florida Tech.

 Rollins College got a combined 51 points from the trio of Matheus Silveira, Kyle Marion, and Braxton Barnhizer but it was not nearly enough in a 96-73 road loss to Florida Tech at the Charles & Ruth Clemente Center. With the loss Rollins drops to 3-3 (0-1 SSC.) The Panthers improve to a perfect 6-0 on the season.   Barnhizer hit a pair of 3-pointer's in the games first 1:47 and the Tars led 6-1. Chase Thompson and Rashaan Edwards hit triples of their own to put the Panthers up 7-6. Barnhizer's third straight triple gave Rollins a 9-7 lead at the 16:55 mark of the first half. The lead was short-lived as a 3-pointer and a layup by Thompson put FIT ahead by a score of 12-9. Silveira and McCullough traded dunks before a Silveira jumper trimmed the Panthers lead to one (14-13) five minutes into this one.
