UpStart Tars Face Road Test At #23 ERAU.

 The Rollins College Tars (10-9 5-6 SSC ) winners of three straight face a road test when they travel to the ICI Center in Daytona Beach to face the 23rd ranked Embry Riddle University Eagles. Rollins is 3-2 in true road games on the season and is coming off a 88-65 thrashing of Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday in Winter Park. Hutton Yenor paced five Tars in double figures with 19 points and was joined by Brooks Cluxton (18 points and a career high 18 rebounds,) Dayton Gumm (14,) Cade Long (11,) and Kyle Marion (10.) Rollins shot 52 percent from the floor, 32 percent (9-28) from the 3-point line, and 68 percent (15-22) from the free throw line. They also won the rebounding battle 43-37 while having 20 assists and 15 turnovers. 

 The Tars average an SSC eighth best 80.2 points per game while they allow an SSC ninth best 79.9 points per contest. They shoot 48 percent from the field which is second best in the conference while they shoot an SSC fourth best 37 percent from the 3-point line. They are also fourth in the SSC shooting at a 74 percent clip from the free throw line. On the glass the Tars are 10th in the SSC being out rebounded by 2.9 (35.1-38) boards per night. Rollins has two of the 10 scorers in the conference as Yenor leads the team pouring in a SSC sixth best 19.4 points per game while Marion is eighth in the SSC putting up 18.4 points per contest. Marion also leads the team and is 11th in the conference dishing out 3.6 assists per contest. Cluxton also averages in double figures at 11.2 points per game and leads the team on the glass hauling in an SSC third best 9.6 rebounds per night. 

 In the first meeting back on 12/1 (a 90-78 Tars loss) Marion paced Rollins with 32, Yenor had 21, and Cade Long tallied nine. They shot 48 percent from the field, 42 percent (11-26) from the 3-point line, and 81 percent (13-16) from the free throw line in the defeat. 

 The Eagles (15-4 8-2 SSC) also come in riding a three game win streak. Last time out they were a 84-62 road winner over Lynn. Romeo Crouch paced the Eagles with 31, Nikola Jerotic added 14, and Malcolm Whitlow chipped in 12. As a team ERAU shot 52 percent from the field, 44 percent (7-16) from the 3-point line, and 60 percent (9-15) at the free throw line. ERAU is scoring an SSC third best 85.3 points per game while they are allowing 76.3 points per contest which is also third in the SSC. They shoot an SSC seventh best 47 percent from the field while they shoot 39 percent from the 3-point line which is second in the conference. The Eagles shoot at a 72 percent clip from the free throw line which is sixth in the SSC. On the glass the Eagles lead the SSC getting 6.3 more caroms per night than the opposition ((41.2-34.9.)  

 Crouch leads the team and is third in the conference putting up 20.3 points per game. He is joined in double figures by Elijah Jenkins (15.2 points per night,) and both Jerotic and Whitlow who are chipping in 10.4 per contest. Jon Allesandro leads ERAU on the glass getting 6.9 rebounds per game while Crouch is fifth in the SSC getting five assists per game. 

 In the first meeting with Rollins back in December Jenkins drained nine 3-pointers on his way to 33 points, Crouch added 19, Michael McCalister chipped in 15, and Jerotic netted 13. As a team they shot 46 percent from the field, 41 percent (17-42) from the 3-point line, and were a perfect 13 of 13 at the free throw line. They had 23 assists and nine turnovers on the night.
