Rollins Closes Regular Season In Boca.

 The Rollins College Tars will close the regular season Saturday when they travel to Boca Raton to take on the Lynn University Fighting Knights at the De Hoernle Sport and Cultural Center. Rollins currently sits in eighth place in the latest South Region rankings released Wednesday (Top eight teams qualify.) The game is scheduled to tip at 4 PM.  Rollins (14-13 9-10 SSC) has not played since a hard fought 79-73 loss to #1 Nova Southeastern on Saturday. Hutton Yenor poured in 32 points to lead Rollins, Cade Long netted 18, and Kyle Marion scored 10. The Tars shot 50 percent from the field, 35 percent (7-20) from the 3-point line, and 78 percent (14-18) at the free throw line. They had 17 assists and 14 turnovers in the contest. 

 In the first meeting with Lynn a short-handed Rollins team was a 81-60 loser on January 2nd. Marion had 35 in that game while Cody Potter scored eight. They shot 35 percent from the field, 36 percent (9-25) from the 3-point line, and 65 percent (11-17) from the free throw line in that one. 

 Rollins scores an SSC sixth best 79.8 points per game while they allow 79.9 points per night which is ninth in the conference. The Tars are second in the league shooting 48 percent from the field on the season. At the 3-point line Rollins is shooting 36.6 percent which is sixth in the SSC. The Tars are an SSC third best shooting 76.3 percent from the free throw line. On the glass the Tars are at the bottom of the conference being out rebounded by 4.4 (33.5-37.9) boards per night. Yenor is third in the SSC as well as 17th in the country averaging 21.2 points per game. Marion is ninth in the conference scoring 17.3 points per contest. Yenor (sixth) and Marion (10th) are also in the top 10 in the SSC in field goal percentage. Dayton Gumm leads the Tars and is 10th in the SSC dishing out 3.8 assists per night. Brooks Cluxton is third in the SSC in blocked shots (1.3 per game,) tops in the league in rebounding (10.1 per night) while averaging 11.8 points per game. 

 Lynn (10-13 4-15 SSC) has lost four straight. Last time out the Fighting Knights lost 96-66 to #1 Nova Southeastern on Wednesday. Christian Peevy had 18 and Jamison Evans 16 to lead Lynn in the loss. They shot 43 percent from the field, 36 percent (9-25) from the 3-point line, and 69 percent (9-13) from the free throw line in the loss. They had 12 assists and 19 turnovers on the night. 

 In the first meeting with Rollins Peevy poured in 31 points to go along with 12 rebounds while both Brandon Bornelus and Alex Doane tallied 14. They shot 53 percent from the field, 40 percent (8-20) from the 3-point line and 85 percent (11-13) from the free throw line in the 81-60 win. 

The Fighting Knights are ninth in the SSC in scoring getting 76.8 points per game while defensively they lead the SSC giving up 75.4 points per contest. Lynn shoots an SSC seventh best 45 percent from the field while they are ninth in the league shooting 33 percent from distance. They lead the conference shooting at a 79 percent clip from the free throw line while on the boards they are fifth in the conference getting 2.3 (36.6-34.3) more rebounds than the opposition. Peevy is seventh in the league scoring 18.2 points per game and is sixth grabbing 8.3 rebounds per night. He shoots 48 percent from the field which is seventh in the conference as well as being fourth in the league blocking one shot per night. Bornelus is the only other Fighting Knight averaging double figures netting 14.2 per game. Tommie Luke is third on the team putting up 9.6 per contest. Bornleus leads the team and is sixth in the conference dishing out 4.6 assists per night.
