Rollins Falls To Lynn In Season Finale.

 The Rollins College Tars needed a win on Saturday to get into the NCAA South Region being seeded eighth and fell 83-60 to Lynn University in the season finale. The Tars were paced by Hutton Yenor with 22 points, Brooks Cluxton scored 19 and Kyle Marion added 12. 

 Rollins led 12-8 after a Yenor jumper. A Christian Peevy 3-pointer at the 11:47 mark of the opening half put the Fighting Knights on top. Marion answered and the lead changed hands again. After a Dayton Gumm. Lynn would go up 33-24 after Jamison Evans hit a 3-pointer at the 3:44 mark of the opening stanza. The Tars would pull to within three (36-33) after a Marion basket as the teams headed to their perspective locker rooms. The Tars shot 50 percent from the field and went 1-7 from the 3-point line in the opening stanza. They shot 80 percent (8-10) from the free throw line. Lynn shot 48 percent in the opening half, 43 percent (6-14) from the 3-point line, and 67 percent (4-6) from the free throw line. 

 The Tars scored the first four points of the second half as Brooks Cluxton scored after a Dayton Gumm steal that put Rollins on top 37-36 with 18:19 to go. The next five points would go to Lynn before a Marion triple cut the Fighting Knights lead to 41-40 with 17:02 to go. A pair of Lynn triples put them up by seven before Yenor and Cade Long scored to make it 47-44 Lynn. After a Cluxton layup with 14:36 on the clock the deficit was four (50-46.) A Long 3-pointer at the 12:15 mark got Rollins within three (54-51.) Long again hit a triple to pull Rollins within three (59-56) with 10:59 to go. Evans would hit back to back 3-pointers to stretch the Lynn lead to nine at the 10:02 mark. Rollins scored the next four points as Cluxton scored and then Yenor stole the ball then scored at the other end to make it a five point game (65-60) with 8:38 to go. The Fighting Knights would score the next nine points and led by 14 (74-60) after a Servet Kuznat layup at the 7:02 mark. The Fighting Knights would close this one out with a 83-60 win. 

 Evans poured in a game high 40 points as he knocked down 12 3-pointer's on the day. Gaines netted 15 to go along with eight rebounds, while Peevy scored 14. The Fighting Knights shot 57 percent from the field, 54 percent (19-35) from the 3-point line, and 67 percent (6-9) from the free throw line. Lynn won the rebounding battle 29-24. They had 27 assists and 11 turnovers in the contest. 

 Rollins shot 48 percent from the field, 18 percent (4-22) from the 3-point line and 78 percent (14-18) from the free throw line. They had 10 assists and 10 turnovers in the contest. 

The Tars end the regular season at 14-14 and 9-11 in the SSC. Lynn would finish the regular season at 11-13 and 5-15 in the SSC. 

Rollins is the sixth seed in the SSC Tournament and will face third seeded Barry on Tuesday night in Miami Shores.
