Rollins Looks For Season Sweep Of Eckerd.

 The Rollins College Tars will look for the season sweep of the Eckerd College Tritons on Wednesday night. After winning 84-81 in overtime three weeks ago the Tars will play Eckerd again, this time at the Mcarthur Center. Tip time is slated for 7:30 PM and you can catch all the action with Jim "Shooter" Ferro and Robert Siegel on the Sunshine State Digital network at SunshineStateConference.TV and on 91.5 FM WPRK Winter Park. 

 Rollins (13-10 8-7 SSC) is coming off an 80-75 win that completed the season sweep of #22 Barry on Saturday. Hutton Yenor paced the Tars with 28 points, Sergey Grishaev added 15, and Cade Long tallied 11. Brooks Cluxton narrowly missed a double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds. As a team the Tars shot 48 percent from the field, 36 percent (8-22) from the 3-point line and 75 percent (12-16) from the free throw line. In the first meeting with Eckerd Kyle Marion paced Rollins with 28, Yenor had 22,  Long netted 14, and Cluxton had 14 points to go along with 14 rebounds. Rollins shot 38 percent from the field, 29 percent (10-34) from the 3-point line, and 77 percent (26-34) at the free throw line in the contest. The Tars are seventh in the SSC on offense scoring 79.8 points per game while defensively they are also seventh giving up 79.2 points per night. Rollins has shot the ball well from the field as evidenced by a conference second best 48 percent shooting from the field while they are fourth in the conference shooting 37 percent from the 3-point line. They shoot an SSC third best 76 percent from the free throw line. On the glass the Tars are 10th in the SSC being out-rebounded by 3.7 boards per game (34.7-38.4.) The Tars are also second in the SSC in both assists (18.4 per game) and assist to turnover ratio. 

Yenor leads the team and is fourth in the SSC getting 20.4 points per game, Marion is ninth in the conference netting 17.6 per night, while he is dishing out 3.6 assists per contest. Cluxton tallies 11.8 points per game and is second in the SSC grabbing 10.3 boards per night. Dayton Gumm leads the team in assists at four per contest. Yenor and Marion are ninth and 10th in the SSC respectively in field goal percentage as well. Marion is also ninth in the conference shooting 39 percent from the 3-point line. 

Eckerd (4-14 2-13 SSC) is coming off an 85-77 win over Palm Beach Atlantic last time out. GianFranco Garfalis led EC with 21 points and was joined in double figures by Kent Garard (19,) Daniel Love 17, and David Swedura (14.) The Tritons shot 49 percent from the field, 27 percent (6-22) from the 3-point line and 66 percent (21-32) from the free throw line. In the meeting with the Tars in Winter Park Grafalis had 30, Love had 27, and Swedura netted nine. They shot 44 percent as a team, 35 percent (8-23) from the 3-point line and 73 percent (11-15) from the free throw line. On the season the Tritons are 11th in the conference scoring 71 points per game on offense while defensively they are second in the SSC giving up 75.3 per night. They shoot an SSC 11th best 44 percent from the field and are 10th in the conference shooting 32 percent from the 3-point line. The Tritons are an SSC fourth best 74 percent shooting team at the free throw line and are eighth in the conference being out-rebounded by 1.7 (34.5-36.2) boards per contest. Grafals leads the team in scoring putting up an SSC third best 20.8 points per game and leads the team in rebounding at 6.8 per night, while Love is eighth in the conference getting 17.6 per game.  Love leads EC in assists and is seventh in the SSC dishing out 4.7 per contest. The game will feature four of the top 10 players in the SSC in minutes played as Eckerd has Swedura who is third (35.7 per night) and Grafalis who is fourth (34.8 per game.) Rollins has Yenor who is sixth (34.3 per night) and Marion who is eight at 34.2 per contest.
