Rollins Looks For Season Sweep Of Southern.

 The Rollins Tars (12-9 7-6 SSC) look for the season sweep of the Florida Southern Moccasins (9-12 6-7 SSC) on Wednesday night at Warden Arena. Tip time is slated for 7:30 PM.  Rollins is riding a five game win streak going into Wednesday. Last week they opened the week with a 89-82 upset of #23 Embry Riddle before they squeaked by Florida Tech 67-65 at the Clemente Center in Melbourne on Saturday. Hutton Yenor paced the Tars with 23 points on Saturday while Cade Long added 10. Kyle Marion tallied nine, and Brooks Cluxton did a little bit of everything scoring eight points, grabbing 14 rebounds, and dishing out seven assists. Rollins shot 41 percent from the field, 27 percent (6-22) from the 3-point line, and went a perfect 11 of 11 at the free throw line. Rollins averages 80 points per game on the offensive end which is seventh best in the SSC while they allow 79.3 per night which is also seventh best in the conference. The Tars are second in the SSC shooting 48 percent from the field and are fifth in the conference shooting at a 36 percent clip from the 3-point line. They shoot an SSC second best 76 percent at the free throw line. On the glass Rollins is 10th in the conference being out-rebounded by 3.2 (34.7-37.9) boards per night. Yenor leads the team and is fifth in the conference scoring 19.7 points per game while Marion is eighth in the SSC getting 18 points per night. Cluxton is the reigning SSC Defensive Player of the Week. He scores 11.8 points game, grabs an SSC third best 9.9 rebounds per game which leads the squad and is third in the SSC getting 1.3 blocks per night. Dayton Gumm is dishing out four assists per game which leads the Tars and is ninth in the conference. The Tars were a 96-77 winner in the first meeting with Southern. Yenor had 24, Marion 22, Cluxton added 16 and 12 rebounds, while Cade Long scored 15. The Tars shot 56 percent from the field and 48 percent (11-23) from the 3-point line in that one. They shot 56 percent (5-9) at the free throw line as well. They easily won the rebounding battle 48-33 that night. 

 Like Rollins the Mocs won both games they played last week. They were a 81-78 winner over Florida Tech before a 12 point win (85-73) at Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday. EJ Dambreville led three Mocs in double figures with 23 on Saturday to go along with 11 rebounds, Xavier Rhodes added 13 and six assists, while Jack Casale tallied 11. Southern shot 46 percent from the field, 50 percent (15-30) from the 3-point line, and 78 percent (14-18) from the free throw line in the contest. On the season the Mocs are scoring an SSC sixth best 80.4 points per game while defensively they are 11th in the conference giving up 83.3 points per night. They shoot an SSC ninth best 44 percent from the field while they are fourth in the SSC shooting 36 percent from the 3-point line. The Mocs are ninth in the conference shooting 68 percent from the free throw line and are eighth in the conference being out-rebounded by 2.4 (37.5-39.7) boards per night. Damberville shares the team lead with Rhodes getting 13.8 points per game. Damberville is second in the SSC grabbing a team leading 10 rebounds per night. Rhodes leads the squad and is fifth in the SSC dishing out 5.1 assists per night. Damberville also is fourth in the SSC in minutes played. Casale scores 13.2 per night and Tarik Mckelphin nets 12.5 per game. In the first meeting with the Tars four players scored in double figures led by Casale with 18, DeAndre Campbell scored 16, Rhodes tallied 14, and Mckelphin contributed 13. The Mocs shot 41 percent from the field, 34 percent (15-44) from the 3-point line, and 36 percent (4-11) at the free throw line.
