Rollins Falls In Tight Game On The Road.

 The Rollins College Tars dropped a tight contest 93-89 to the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish at Rubin Arena on Wednesday night. With the loss Rollins drops to 3-3 and 0-2 in the SSC. PBA improves to 3-1 (1-1 SSC) with the victory. 

 Rollins was led by a trio of players in double figures. Kyle Marion and Hutton Yenor paced the Tars with 21 points each, while John Latimer was a perfect 4-4 from the 3-point line en route to a career high 16 points. 

 Bryce Laskey poured in a game high 31 points to lead the Sailfish as he knocked down seven triples, Will Lee added 17, Jalen Cooper scored 16 to go along with nine rebounds, and Marcus Montalvo scored 11 and dished out a team leading 15 assists. 

 Rollins scored the games first eight points and had a 12-8 lead five minutes in. The Sailfish would take a 17-16 lead but Latimer would knock down a 3-pointer seconds later to give Rollins a 21-20 lead. It would be a 48-44 lead for the Tars at the intermission. 

 After a Yenor bucket Rollins lead would be eight points (52-44.) The Sailfish would go on a 7-0 spurt to get to within one after a Cooper dunk. A Marion 3-pointer and Cade Long jumper would stretch the lead for Rollins. After a bucket by PBA Marion knocked down a triple to give the Tars a 60-53 advantage with 14:54 on the clock. The Sailfish would knot the game at 64. A Jaden Frazier jumper and dunk by Yenor put the Tars up by four. After Laskey put PBA on top the Tars would get a three-point play by Yenor to go back on top 73-72 with 9:06 to go. The two teams would trade triples but then Rollins would go on a 7-0 burst capped by a Marion jumper to lead 85-78 with 4:31 to go. PBA would go on a 13-0 run Laskey would knock down three straight triples and the Sailfish were in control. Rollins would get to within two (91-89) after a Latimer layup but PBA would close this one out to the 93-89 final. 

 Rollins shot 58.1 percent from the field in the loss, 43.5 percent (10-23) from the 3-point line, and 77.8 percent (7-9) at the free throw line. They had 22 assists and 15 turnovers in the contest. 

 PBA shot 53.8 percent from the field, 45.7 percent (16-35) from the 3-point line, and 53.8 percent (7-13) from the free throw line. The Sailfish had 28 assists and 14 turnovers in the victory. Each team tallied 31 rebounds on the night as well. 

Rollins will be back in action Saturday when they host Flagler. Tip time at Warden Arena is set for 7 PM.
