Rollins Hosts ERAU In SSC Opener.

 The Rollins College Tars welcome the Embry-Riddle Eagles to Warden Arena on Saturday for a 4 PM Tip. You can catch all the action on 91.5 FM WPRK Winter Park and worldwide at RollinsSports.com with Jim "Shooter" Ferro and Robert Siegel on the call.  

 Rollins (1-1) split a pair of games at the South Region crossover last weekend. First they knocked off Auburn-Mongomery in the opener before they lost to host Benedict the next day. 

Rollins scores 67 points per game while they give up 79.5 per night. They shoot 40.2 percent from the field and 50 percent from the 3-point line. They have shot a solid 70.8 percent from the free throw line in the young campaign. The Tars have been out rebounded by five boards per night (31.5-36.5.) Hutton Yenor leads a trio of Tars averaging double figures at 19.5 points per night. Kyle Marion puts up 10.5 per game and Cam Corcoran averages 10 points per contest. Yenor leads the team in assists at 6 per game while Corcoran leads the team in assists at 3.5 per game. 

ERAU (2-0) defeated Flagler and West Georgia in the first two contests. Last time out was a 82-67 win over Flagler.  Chris Murray had 23 and Malcolm Whitlow 12 to pace the Eagles. They shot 48.6 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from the 3-point line, and 50 percent at the free throw line. They average 76 points per game while they allow 66 per contest. ERAU shoots 47.2 percent from the field, 35.9 percent from the 3-point line, and 62.9 percent from the free throw line. They are dominating the glass as they are out rebounding the opposition by 12.5 (43.0-30.5) rebounds per night. 

 Murray leads four players in double figures scoring 20.5 points per game. Whitlow puts up 12 per game, Dry Nickson scores 11 per night and Michael McCallister tallies 10 per contest. McCallister leads the team on the glass getting 11 boards per night and Whitlow leads the team dishing out 6.5 assists per night.

 The Rollins College Tars went down to Miami Shores and picked up their first conference win of the season as they knocked off Barry 86-79. With the win Rollins improves to 4-4 and 1-2 in the SSC. Barry falls to 3-3 and 1-2 in the SSC.   Kyle Marion paced the Tars with 18 points, Matheus Silviera netted 17 and grabbed nine rebounds, John Latimer knocked down three 3-pointer on his way to 16 points, while Hutton Yenor tallied 14. Tars Set To Battle Eckerd Wednesday.

 The Rollins College Tars return home to face the Eckerd College Tritons on Wednesday at Warden Arena. The Tars were led by 28 points from Hutton Yenor, Kyle Marion added 25, Cade Long tallied 13, and Dayton Gumm scored 11. Marion, Silveira, Barnhizer combine for 51 in Road Loss To Florida Tech.

 Rollins College got a combined 51 points from the trio of Matheus Silveira, Kyle Marion, and Braxton Barnhizer but it was not nearly enough in a 96-73 road loss to Florida Tech at the Charles & Ruth Clemente Center. With the loss Rollins drops to 3-3 (0-1 SSC.) The Panthers improve to a perfect 6-0 on the season.   Barnhizer hit a pair of 3-pointer's in the games first 1:47 and the Tars led 6-1. Chase Thompson and Rashaan Edwards hit triples of their own to put the Panthers up 7-6. Barnhizer's third straight triple gave Rollins a 9-7 lead at the 16:55 mark of the first half. The lead was short-lived as a 3-pointer and a layup by Thompson put FIT ahead by a score of 12-9. Silveira and McCullough traded dunks before a Silveira jumper trimmed the Panthers lead to one (14-13) five minutes into this one.
