Tars Travel To Palm Beach Atlantic.
The Rollins College Tars (3-2 0-1 SSC) travel to West Palm to take on the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish (2-1 0-1 SSC)on Wednesday. Tip time is slated for 7:30 PM at Rubin Arena. Rollins won a pair of games last week as they downed Puerto Rico Bayamon 92-79 before romping Southeastern 94-59 last time out. Rollins had five players in double figures on Wednesday led by 16 points from Hutton Yenor. Matheus Silviera had 13, Brookes Kahlert knocked down four 3-pointer's on his way to a season high 12, Kyle Marion tallied 11, and John Latimer rounded out the double figure scorers with 10. The Tars are scoring an SSC sixth best 80.4 points per game while defensively they allow an SSC ninth best 77 points per contest. The Tars are fifth in the SSC shooting 47.2 percent from the field, while they are shooting an SSC best 46.7 percent from long distance. They are near the bottom of the conference as they shoot 67.9 percent from the free throw line. Rollins is eighth on the glass as they outbound the opposition by one board per contest ((35.6-34.6.)
Yenor paces the team and is fourth in the SSC scoring 19 points per game. That includes shooting an SSC seventh best 54 percent from the field. He also shoots at a 46.2 percent clip from the 3-point line. Yenor also leads the team in rebounding at 6.2 per night. Silviera is also averaging double figures at 10.2 points per game. Marion leads the team in assists at just over four per game to go with his 9.8 points per night. Cam Corcoran is shooting an SSC second best 50 percent from the 3-point line while making an SSC ninth best 2.4 three's per contest. Marion (4.2 per game which is fourth) and Yenor (3.6 per game which is 10th) in assists per game in the conference.
PBA is coming off a hard fought 63-56 win over Clark-Atlanta on Tuesday. Jalen Cooper had 14, Lee added 12, and Trent McNair netted 10.
In the conference the Sailfish are scoring 73.7 points per game which is good for 10th but they lead the SSC on defense giving up 62.7 points per night. They shoot an SSC ninth best 44.4 percent from the field and 36.6 percent from the 3-point line which is good for fifth in the conference On the glass they are +5.4 (37.7-32.3) which is sixth in the SSC.
Will Lee is seventh in the SSC and paces PBA putting up 18 points per night. He is also third in the conference at 4.3 assists per contest which also leads PBA. Cooper is eighth in the conference grabbing 7.3 boards per contest to go along with his 12 points, while both Marcus Montalvo and Jakob Hester score 11 points per night.
