Tars And Saints Set To Clash At Warden Arena Saturday.
The Rollins College Tars and Flagler College Saints are set to clash at Warden Arena on Saturday night. Rollins (3-3 0-2 SSC) is coming off a tough 89-83 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic Wednesday evening. Hutton Yenor and Kyle Marion each scored 21 points, while John Latimer III scored 16 in the defeat. Rollins shot the ball well, as they shot 58.1 percent from the floor and 43.5 percent (10-23) from the 3-point line, as well as shooting at a 77.8 percent clip (7-9) at the free throw line.
Rollins is scoring an SSC fourth best 81.8 points per game, while defensively they are ninth in the conference giving up 79.7 points per contest. They are shooting 49.1 percent from the field which is good for third in the SSC and are shooting 46.2 percent from the 3-point line which leads the conference. The Jacksonville native also leads the team in assists at more than four per night. Matheus Silviera is putting up 9.8 points per game on the season.
Flagler (4-4) is coming off a 94.83 loss to Savannah State last time out. A trio of Saints scored in double figures led by Kyle Young with 30 points and 12 rebounds. Omar Figueroa added 21 and Tyler Collier netted 10. The Saints shot 54.5 percent from the field, 38.9 percent (7-18) from the 3-point line and 80 percent (16-20) at the free throw line.
As a team the Saints average 83.3 points per game, while they allow 80.6 points per contest. They shoot 51.2 percent from the field, 38.9 percent from the 3-point line, and 69.2 percent from the free throw line. On the glass they are being out rebounded by 0.3 (36.8-37.1) boards per night on the young season.
Four Saints average double figure this season paced by Malik Bryant who puts up 17.6 points per game. Young averages 16.1 points per game and grabs a team leading 9.6 rebounds per contest. Jaylen Lemons scores 15.3 points per game and leads the team with 30 assists in eight contests. Figueroa rounds out the double digit scorers putting up 10.9 points per night.
