#2 Nova Southeastern Makes Short Work Of Rollins.
The #2 Nova Southeastern University Sharks dominated the Rollins College Tars for the second time this season. This time the Sharks came away with a 98-55 win. NSU improves to 19-0 and 12-0 in the SSC. They are still one of two remaining undefeated teams in the country. Rollins falls to 9-10 and 5-6 in the SSC.
Nova scored the first five points before Rollins got the next four on a Matheus Silveira dunk and a jumper by Kyle Marion. Rollins would not score again until the 8:37 mark of the first half as a layup by Silveira made it 19-6 NSU. The Sharks would pour it on and take a 47-15 lead into halftime.
Rollins would get a Hutton Yenor 3-pointer to start the second half. The NSU lead would grow to 41 (63-22) at the 16:18 mark. NSU would lead by as many as 49 and cruise to victory.
Yenor led three Tars in double figures with 15 points, Cody Potter added 11, and Silveira tallied 10. Rollins shot 37 percent from the field, 24.1 percent (7-29) from the 3-point line and 72.7 percent (8-11) from the free throw line. The Tars had 10 assists and 22 turnovers in the contest.
Will Yoakum led NSU with 23 points, RJ Sunahara had 20, and Kobe Rodgers tallied 19. Jonathan Pierre stuffed the stat sheet with 6 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds. Nova shot 50 percent from the field, 50 percent from the 3-point line (18-36) and 75 percent (6-8) at the free throw line. The Sharks dominated the boards 43-29. They had 28 assists and 11 turnovers in this one.
Rollins will be back in action Saturday when they travel to Melbourne to battle Florida Tech. Tip time is set for 4 PM.
