Marion Returns As Tars Pick Up Second Straight Win.

 For the second straight game the Rollins College Tars got a key piece back in the lineup and it was the difference. Wednesday night it was Kyle Marion who returned and scored 20 points in a come from behind 81-72 win at Warden Arena. With the win Rollins improves to 7-8 and 4-4 in the Sunshine State Conference. Lynn falls to 3-11 and 1-8 in the SSC. 

 The first four points were scored by Lynn before Matheus Silveira got Rollins on the board. It would be 9-2 in favor of the fighting Knights two and a half minutes in when Tom Klusman called a Rollins time out. Rollins responded with a 6-0 run as Cade Long pulled them to within one (9-8.) The Tars would tie the game at 14 on a 3-pointer by long just over five minutes into this one. Lynn would go on a 6-0 run but Rollins would come back with a quick 4-0 spurt. After a 3-pointer by Jamison Evans the Fighting Knights held a 27-20 advantage. Cam Corcoran would go on a personal 5-0 run to get Rollins to within two (27-25.) Lynn would take a five point lead (40-35) into the halftime break. 

 Lynn stretched the lead to nine (49-40) after a pair of Jimel Lane free throws at the 15:35 mark. After a Lane layup with 13:09 to go the lead was 11 (55-44). Evans hit another triple to stretch the lead to 12 (58-46) with 12:34 on the clock. Rollins would score the next four as a Yenor dunk trimmed it to a 58-50 game with exactly 12 minutes to play. After a Nordin Kapic hoop made it a 10 point Fighting Knights lead the Tars went on a 13-0 run as a 3-pointer by Corcoran put the Tars on top 63-60 with 7:51 to go. Lynn was up 67-65 before a Marion jumper knotted the game at 67 with 5:55 on the clock. A Lane jumper made it 70-67 Lynn with 5:04 to go. The Tars would finish the game on a 14-2 run to secure the 81-72 victory that saw them improve to 3-4 at home this season. 

 Rollins was paced by Marion who had 20 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Yenor added 13 to go with six rebounds, while Latimer notched 12. As a team Rollins shot 49.2 percent from the field, the best 3-point shooting team in the SSC shot just 27.8 percent (5-18) from the 3-point line, and they shot at a 78 percent clip (18-23) from the free throw line. Rollins won the rebounding battle 43-34. They had 16 assists and 13 turnovers in the contest. 

 Lynn was paced by Kapic who tallied 29, Lane added 22, and Evans scored 14. The Fighting Knights shot 39.1 percent from the field. 33.3 percent (7-21) from the 3-point line, and 83.3 percent (15-18) from the free throw line. They had 20 assists and nine turnovers in the contest. 

Rollins will be back in action Saturday when they host #18 Florida Southern. Tip time is slated for 4 PM.
