Rollins Beats Saint Leo As They Play Second Straight Overtime Game.

 For the second straight game the Rollins College Tars played 40 minutes and the game had not been decided. On Wednesday night the Tars needed an extra five minutes but they came up with a 98-95 win at Saint Leo. In a game that featured 12 ties and 18 lead changes Rollins had four players score in double figures in the victory. With the win Rollins improves to 8-9 and 5-5 in the SSC. Saint Leo falls to 13-7 and 5-5 in conference play. 

 Rollins jumped out to a 13-6 lead after a pair of Sergey Grishaev free throws at the 16:03 mark of the opening half. Rollins would hold the lead until midway through the frame as a Ryan Logan 3-pointer would put the Lions on top 25-24. The game would then go on the see-saw for the next several minutes until a 7-0 Lions run gave them a 36-30 lead with 3:17 in the half. Rollins would fight back and take a 43-42 lead into the halftime break. 

 Rollins led 52-49 after a jam by Hutton Yenor with 16:23 to go in the contest. After a Kanon Koster 3-pointer for Saint Leo the game was knotted at 52. A 6-0 Rollins run put them on top 58-52 Then the Lions would go on a 9-0 spurt to go back on top. A 3-pointer by Yenor tied the game and after a Saint Leo hoop Rollins would go back in front on a Cade Long 3-pointer at the 9:31 mark. Another Lions triple put the Lions back in front.  Logan hit another triple and Grant Disken made two free throws to put the Lions up 73-66 with 7:30 on the clock. Three minutes later a pair of pair of Jackson free throws gave Saint Leo an eight point advantage (82-74.) Rollins would go on a 8-0 run of their own and a Grishaev 3-pointer knotted the game at 82 with 1:39 in regulation. A Koster 3-pointer with 38 seconds put the Lions back in front but Long tied the game at 85 with a triple of his own with 24 seconds to go. Koster missed a 3-pointer and after an offensive rebound by the Lions time would expire as the game went into overtime. 

 Jackson put Saint Leo on top to start the overtime but Marion knocked down a triple to put Rollins in front. The game would go back and forth and would be tied at 93 after a Logan  3-pointer with 2:27 in the overtime. Yenor put Rollins in front but Koster would tie the game at 95 with 57 seconds on the clock. Rollins would win the game on three Yenor free throws to come away with the 98-95 win. 

 Yenor paced the Tars with 27 points- Grishaev added 21- Marion scored 19 and dished out six assists, while Long hit four triples on his way to 12 points. The Tars shot a sizzling 64.2 percent from the field, 55 percent (11-20) from the 3-point line, and 79.2 percent (19-24) from the free throw line. They had 20 assists and 17 turnovers in the contest. 

 The Lions were paced by Koster with 29, Jackson added 25, Logan tallied 20, and Disken notched 11. They shot 50.8 percent from the field, 38.2 percent (13-34) from the 3-point line, and 84.2 percent (16-19) from the free throw line. The Lions won the rebounding battle 33-23. They had 19 assists and 16 turnovers in the contest. 

 Rollins will be back in action Friday when they play Warner University in a non conference matchup slated for 7 PM.
