Rollins Makes Short Trip To Saint Leo To Battle The Lions Wednesday.

 The Rollins College Tars (7-9 4-5 SSC) make the short trip to Saint Leo to battle the Saint Leo University Lions (13-6 5-4 SSC) on Wednesday night.  Rollins is coming off a hard fought 111-106 overtime loss at home on Saturday against nationally ranked Florida Southern. Matheus Silveira poured in a game high 31 points to lead four Tars in double figures. Hutton Yenor added 27, Kyle Marion netted 20, and Cade Long tallied 12 in the defeat. Rollins shot 61.1 percent from the field, 40 percent (8-20) from the 3-point line, and 66.7 percent (10-15) from the free throw line. They were out-rebounded 41-38, but had 27 assists and 10 turnovers in the contest. 

 Rollins is seventh in the Sunshine State Conference in scoring putting up 78.1 points per game, while defensively they are ninth in the SSC giving up 80.9 points per night. They shoot 47.8 percent from the field which is third in the conference while they are seventh in the conference on defense as the opposition shoots 45.1 percent from the floor. The Tars continue to be the top 3-point shooting team in the conference shooting 40.9 percent from 3-point land. The Tars are 11th in the conference guarding the 3-point line as the opposition shoots 39.8 percent. Rollins shoots an SSC fourth best 74.8 percent from the free throw line. On the glass the Tars are 10th in the conference being out-rebounded by 0.9 (34.4-35.3) boards per contest. 

 Yenor leads the team and is seventh in the conference putting up 18.6 points per game. He is joined in double figures by Marion (14 points per contest) and Silveira (10.9 points per night.) Yenor leads the team in rebounding at 4.9 per game and Marion tops the team in assists with an SSC sixth best 3.9 per contest. Yenor is also third in the league in steals at 2.3 per night and 10th in the conference in field goal percentage at 48.3 percent. Yenor is also seventh in the SSC in minutes played at 32.1 per night. 

Saint Leo is coming off a 106-84 loss to #2 Nova Southeastern on Saturday. Kanon Koster led four Lions in double figures with 24 points in the losing effort. Grant Disken added 19, Marty Jackson netted 12, and Jeremy Sanchez scored 10. The Lions shot 55.2 percent from the field, 42.1 percent (8-19) from the 3-point line and 85.7 percent (12-14) from the free throw line in the defeat. 

As a team Saint Leo averages an SSC fifth best 82.3 points per game while defensively they give up 74.1 points per night which is third in the SSC. The Lions are second in both field goal percentage (51.6 percent) and opponent field goal percentage (41.5 percent.) From the 3-point line the Lions shoot an SSC fifth best 37.9 percent, while on defense they hold the opposition to an SSC second best 31.1 percent clip from long range. The Lions are fifth in free throw percentage shooting 74.8 percent from the charity stripe. On the glass Saint Leo is seventh out-rebounding the opposition by 0.9 (35.7-34.8) board per contest. 

 Individually Jackson leads the Lions scoring 16.6 points per game, Koster puts up 15.5 per contest, and Disken scores 13.7 per night. Cantia Rahming joins them in double figures at 10.6 per night. Jackson is seventh in the conference and leads the Lions pulling down 6.8 rebounds per night. Koster leads the team in assists at 3.1 per night and is ninth in the SSC in assist to turnover ratio. Jackson is fourth in the SSC in blocked shots at 1.4 per game.
