Rollins Set To Battle #2 Nova Southeastern On The Road.

 The Rollins College Tars (9-9 5-5 SSC) travel to #2 Nova Southeastern (18-0 11-0 SSC) to take on the Sharks at Rick Case Arena Wednesday night. You can catch all of the action on the Sunshine State Conference Digital Network at SunshineStateConference.TV and on 91.5 FM WPRK. The game is scheduled for 7:30 PM with Robert Segal and Jim "Shooter" Ferro on the call. 

 Rollins is coming off a 2-0 week. They were a 98-95 winner in overtime at Saint Leo before the Tars defeated Warner by a score of 91-55 Friday night. Hutton Yenor scored 22 points to pace the Tars on Friday and was selected as the SSC Defensive Player Of The week in the conference. Matheus Silveira added 17, while both Cade Long and Brooks Kahlert each notched 12. Rollins shot 50 percent from the field, 41.7 percent (15-36) from the 3-point line, and 54.5 percent (6-11) from the free throw line. They dominated the boards 49-31 and had 24 assists to just nine turnovers in the convincing win. 

 The Tars are scoring an SSC sixth best 79.9 points per game while defensively they are eighth in the conference giving up 80.3 points per night. Rollins shoots 48.8 percent from the field which is third in the conference and are seventh in the SSC allowing a 44.7 percent shooting percentage. The Tars continue to lead the SSC in 3-point shooting percentage (41.7 percent) and allow the opposition to shoot 39.2 percent from the 3-point line (10th in the SSC.) Rollins shoots an SSC sixth best 74.5 percent from the free throw line and are -0.3 (34.6-34.9) rebounds per contest. Yenor leads the team and is sixth in the SSC putting up 19.3 points per game, the Timber Creek product shoots an SSC ninth best 51.2 percent from the field, and also leads the team grabbing 4.9 rebounds per night. Kyle Marion (14.3 points per game) and Silveira (11.1 points per contest also average in double figures.) Marion is fourth in the SSC dishing out 4.1 assists per contest while Yenor is tied for the top spot in the SSC in steals (2.6 per game.) Yenor is also 10th in the conference in minutes played (32.)  Marion gets 1.7 steals per contest. Silveira leads the team with just under one blocked shot per contest which is 10th in the SSC. 

 In the first meeting in January, a 100-58 loss to NSU Long had 14, Jon Latimer scored 11, and Sergey Grishaev tallied 10. 

 #2 NSU is one of just two remaining undefeated teams in Division II (Indiana, Pa being the other.) Last time out the Sharks disposed of Lynn 132-82. Eight players from NSU scored in double figures in the contest paced by a 19 point-11 rebound night from Will Yoakum. Kobe Rodgers had 16, Jonathan Pierre and Dallas Graziani tallied 14, RJ Sunahara scored 13, and the trio of Tomas Murphy, Jake Maranville, and Alex Mangold scored 10. The Sharks shot 62.2 percent from the field, 61.1 percent (11-18) from the 3-point line, and 78.4 percent (29-37) at the free throw line. They had 21 assists and 13 turnovers in the contest. 

 In the first meeting with Rollins in Winter Park three weeks ago. Mike Moore scored 26, Sunahara added 18, Yoakum tallied 15, and Pierre notched 14. They shot 56.3 percent from the field, 48.8 percent (21-43) from the 3-point line and 53.8 percent (7-13) at the free throw line.

 NSU has the #1 scoring offense in the country putting up 107.4 points per game. They are first in assists per game in the country (23.6,) and scoring margin (+29.) They are sixth in the SSC in points allowed per night. They lead the SSC in field goal percentage (52.6 percent) and are second behind Rollins in 3-point percentage (39.5.) On the defensive end they are fifth in opponent field goal percentage (44.4,) and eighth in 3-point field goal percentage against (36.9 percent.) At the free throw line the Sharks are shooting an SSC fifth best 75.2 percent. On the glass they are second in the SSC with a +7.7 (42.3-34.6) rebounds per contest. 

 Sunahara leads five Sharks in double figures as he pours in 21.6 points per game which is 17th in the country and tops the SSC. Yoakum (17.6 points per game,) Pierre (14.4 points per night,) Rodgers (12.6 per contest) and Graziani (10.1 per game) all average double digit scoring per game. Sunahara leads the team and is just outside the top 10 in the conference grabbing 5.9 rebounds per night. Graziani is second in the SSC and is 10th in the country dishing out 6.2 assists per night. Sunahara is also third in the SSC swatting 1.6 shots per game. Rodgers, Graziani, Yoakum, and Mike Moore all are in the top 10 in the SSC in steals per game. Nova leads the department getting 12.4 steals per night which is tops in the country.
