Rollins Travels To Melbourne To Battle Florida Tech As They Seek Split.

 The Rollins College Tars will head to Melbourne to take on the Florida Tech Panthers as they seek a split of the season series with the Panthers. Rollins comes in with a record of 9-10 and 5-6 in the SSC. The Panthers sit at 14-6 overall and 7-5 in the MEC.  Rollins is coming off a 98-55 loss to #2 Nova Southeastern on Wednesday. Hutton Yenor led three Tars in double figures with 15 points, Cody Potter netted 11, and Matheus Silveira tallied 10. Rollins is scoring an SSC sixth best 78.6 points per game, while they are eight in the conference on the defensive end giving up 81.2 points per game. The Tars are third in the conference shooting 48.2 percent from the field while they are eighth in the conference allowing the opposition to shoot 45 percent from the floor. Rollins continues to be the top 3-point shooting team in the SSC shooting 40.5 percent from the field, defensively they allow the opposition to shoot 39.8 percent from the 3-point line. At the free throw line the Tars are sixth in the SSC shooting 74.4 percent. On the glass the Tars are ninth in the SSC being out rebounded by 1.0 (34-3- 35.3) rebounds per contest. 

 Yenor leads the team and is sixth in the SSC scoring 19.1 points per game. The Timber Creek product corrals five rebounds per game which leads the squad, shoots 50.9 percent from the field which is ninth in the conference. dishes out 2.8 assists, and plays 31.6 minutes per game which is ninth in the SSC. Kyle Marion is second on the team scoring 13.6 points per night, dishes out 3.9 assists per game which leads the team and is fifth in the conference, and gets 1.7 steals per contest which is eighth in the SSC. Silveira rounds out the double figure scorers at 11 points per game. In the first meeting on January 1st, a 71-61 loss to the Panthers Cam Corcoran scored 13, Cade Long added 12, and Silveira scored 10. 

 The Panthers have lost two straight and are coming off a 92-72 loss to Saint Leo last time out. Sean Houpt led three Florida Tech players in double figures with 20, Sesan Russell added 17 and Chase Thompson chipped in 16. In the first meeting with Rollins a little less than a month ago Houpt scored 23, Russell added 14, Niall Harris tallied 13, and Mekhii Noble posted 10. 

 As a team the Panthers score 78.3 points per game which is seventh in the SSC while defensively they allow an SSC leading 70.7 points per contest. The Panthers are eighth in the SSC shooting 45 percent from the field, defensively they hold the opposition to 41.5 percent shooting which leads the conference. Florida Tech is 10th in the SSC shooting 32.9 percent from the 3-point line, they hold the opposition to 1.9 percent shooting from long range which is second in the SSC. At the free throw line the Panthers shoot 71.7 percent which is ninth in the SSC. On the glass the Panthers are +6.5 (39.9-33.4) which is third in the conference. 

Individually Houpt leads the team and is second in the conference putting up 21.4 points per game, Russell scores 19.5 points per night which is fourth in the conference, Noble scores 13.2 per game and Harris gets 10.8 points per night. Noble gets seven rebounds per game to lead the team while Russell leads the Panthers and the SSC in assists at seven per contest. Russell (1.8 per game) and Harris (1.6) are sixth and ninth in the conference respectively.
