Rollins Travels To Tampa Saturday.

 The Rollins College Tars (5-8 2-4 SSC) travel to Tampa to take on the University of Tampa Spartans (5-7 4-2 SSC) on Saturday afternoon at the Bob Martinez Sports Center. The game is scheduled to tip at 4 PM and you can catch all the action on 91.5 Fm WPRK in Winter Park and on the Sunshine State Conference digital network at SunshineStateConference.TV 

 Rollins is coming off taking a 100-58 drubbing over the #2 Nova Southeastern Sharks on Wednesday night in Winter Park. The short handed Tars were led by three players in double figures. Cade Long led the Tars with 14 points, John Latimer added 11, and Sergey Grishaev tallied 10. Rollins shot 39 percent from the field, 37 percent (7-18) from the 3-point line, and 88 percent (15-17) at the free throw line. They had 12 assists in the contest but had a costly 22 turnovers in the loss. 

 Rollins is eighth in the SSC both offensively and defensively. They score 76.3 points per game while they allow 80.5 points per night. They shoot an SSC fourth best 46.9 percent from the field, as they continue to lead the conference shooting at a 42.1 percent clip from the 3-point line. The Tars are third in free throw shooting in the conference shooting 74.5 percent. They are now 10th in the conference in rebounding as they are being out rebounded by 1.0 rebound per game (33.2-34.2.) 

 Hutton Yenor leads Rollins scoring an SSC fifth best 18.3 points per game. Kyle Marion joins him in double figures at 13 points per contest. Yenor also leads the team in rebounding and assists (3.5 per contest.) 

 Tampa is coming off a 77-71 loss to Saint Leo last time out. Jesse White paced five Spartans in double figures with 16 points. Mykah Brown scored 15, Tyson Leitao and Jonathan Bryant each tallied 13, while Bryant Brown scored 11. Leitao led the team with 14 rebounds while Harris dished out four assists. Tampa shot 42.9 percent from the field, 40.9 percent (9-22) from the 3-point line, and 61.5 percent (8-13) at the free throw line. They won the rebounding battle 36-33. The Spartans had 12 assists and 12 turnovers in the contest. 

UT is at the bottom of the conference in scoring putting up 69.3 points per game while on defense they are giving up an SSC fourth best 71.8 points per night. The Spartans shoot an SSC 10th best 43.9 percent from the field while they hold the opposition to an SSC fourth best 43 percent mark from the floor. The Spartans shoot 37 percent from the 3-point line which is sixth in the SSC while they hold the opposition to an SSC fourth best 33.3 percent mark from 3-point land. The Spartans are shooting an SSC second best 74.7 percent from the free throw line while while they are an SSC third best +7.7 (39.8-32.1) rebounds per contest. 

 Brown paces the season box score at 15.3 points per game while Harris and Bryant share the team leading on the glass grabbing 4.9 rebounds and 4.8 rebounds respectively per night. Harris leads the team in assists at 2.5 per game. Bryant (11.5 points per game) and Harris (10.3 points per contest) also average double figures.
