Rollins Remains Home To Face Eckerd As They Seek Season Sweep.

 The Rollins College Tars (12-13 8-9 SSC) look for the season sweep of the Eckerd College Tritons (9-14 6-11 SSC) on Saturday afternoon. Tip time is set for 4 PM at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center.  Rollins is coming off a 89-75 loss at home to Saint Leo on Wednesday night. Hutton Yenor led three Tars in double figures with 17 points, Sergey Grishaev added 16, and Matheus Silveira added 12. Rollins comes into Saturday's contest scoring an SSC sixth best 79.8 points per game, on the defensive end they give up 81.5 points per night which is ninth in the conference. The Tars shoot 48.1 percent from the field which is fourth in the MEC, defensively they allow the opposition to shoot 44.9 percent which is seventh in the conference. Rollins shoots 38.3 percent from the 3-point line which is fourth in the MEC, they are 10th at guarding the 3-point line as the opposition shoots 38.8 percent. Rollins is the fourth best free throw shooting team in the conference shooting 76 percent. On the glass the Tars are ninth being out-rebounded by 0.9 (35.0-35.9) rebounds per contest. Yenor leads the team and is fourth in the SSC scoring 19.9 points per game. He also leads the team in rebounds (5.4 per night,) field goal percentage (49.5 percent) steals (59) and minutes played (33.3.) His 2.6 steals per game is good for second in the SSC. Kyle Marion scores 13.1 points per game and Silveira tallies 12.1 per night. Marion leads the team and is fourth in the SSC dishing out four assists per contest. 

 In the first meeting between the Tars and Eckerd (a six point Rollins win on 12.29) Yenor scored 27, CodyPotter added 20, and Silveria tallied 12. Rollins shot 52 percent in that game, 42 percent (10-24) from the 3-point line, and 76 percent (16-21) from the free throw line. 

Eckerd is coming off of an 80-76 loss to Tampa on home on Wednesday. Daniel Love led the Tritons with 24 points and Carr Thiam also scored in double figures with 19. They shot 47 percent from the field, 41 percent (9-22) from the 3-point line and 61 percent (11-18) from the free throw line in the contest. 

In the first meeting against the Tars Love had 21, Dante Bouchard added 15, and Thiam netted 12. The Tritons score 75.7 points per game which is ninth in the SSC, defensively they give up 79.4 points per night which is seventh in the conference. The Tritons are at the bottom of the conference in field goal percentage (43.2 percent) and are 10th in the conference letting the opposition shoot 47.7 percent. The Tritons shoot an SSC eighth best 34.2 percent from the 3-point line while the opposition shoots 38.2 percent from long range which is ninth in the SSC. EC is eighth in the SSC at the free throw line shooting at a 72.5 percent clip. The Tritons are seventh in the conference on the glass out-rebounding the opposition by 1.2 (36.5-35.3) boards per night. 

Love leads the season box score scoring 17.6 points per game, Thiam puts up 16.8 per contest, and Kent Garard tallies 9.2 points per night. On the glass Thiam and Garard share the team lead getting 5.1 rebounds per contest. Love also leads the team in assists at three per night.
