Tars Cruise To Home Win.

 The Rollins College Tars (11-10 7-6 SSC) had four players score in double figures as they cruised to a 75-60 win over the University of Tampa at Warden Arena. Hutton Yenor led Rollins with 19 points, nine rebounds, and a team leading five steals. Matheus Silveira added 16, Cade Long scored 14, and Kyle Marion added 12 to go along with five assists. Tampa (7-12 6-7 SSC) was paced by Mykah Brown with 21 and Jonathan Bryant added 15. 

Rollins took control early in this one as they scored the games first 11 points. Yenor and Silveira provided all the points in the quick start capped by a Yenor jam with 17:04 in the first half. The Spartans battled back and after a pair of Brown triples were within four (19-15) with nine minutes in the opening half. After a Brown 3-pointer at the four minute mark of the opening half the Spartans were within five (25-20.) Long drained a triple to make it an eight point game. After a free throw by the Spartans Rollins finished the half on a 9-0 run as Marion scored before Long went on a personal 7-0 run to finish the half with a 16 point lead (37-21) at the intermission. 

 After a jumper by Long at the 14:37 mark Rollins held a 47-30 advantage. The lead was trimmed to 12 (51-39) on a Bryant three-point play two and a half minutes later. After a Brown jumper pulled the Spartans within 11 (57-46) the Tars went on a 9-0 run capped by a Silveira jumper to stretch the lead to 20 (66-46) with 6:33 on the clock. Rollins would cruise to victory from there and complete the season sweep of UT. 

 Yenor went 9-17 from the floor on his way to 19 points, was 7-11 from the floor and 2-2 at the free throw line to tally his 16. Long was 5-9 from the floor including a triple and 3-3 at the charity stripe to net 14, and Marion added 12 and 5 assists as he was 5-12 from the field, 1-6 from the 3-point line and 1-3 at the foul line. Rollins shot 46.4 percent from the field, 5-26 (19.2 percent) from the 3-point line, and 75 percent (6-8) from the free throw line. They had 13 assists and 14 turnovers in the contest. 

 Tampa was led by Brown who went 7-15 from the floor and 5-7 from the 3-point line on his way to 21 points. Bryant was 5-15 from the field and 1-6 from 3-point line, he went 4-4 at the charity stripe. Tyson Laiteao added nine points and a team leading 13 rebounds. As a team UT shot 33.9 percent from the field, 37.5 percent (9-24) from the 3-point line and 90 percent (9-10) from the free throw line. The Spartans won the rebounding battle 43-36. They had 10 assists and 17 turnovers in the contest. 

The Tars will stay home Saturday and take on Barry. Tip time is set for 4 PM.
