Rollins Continues Dominance of Mayaguez With 15th straight Win.

It wasn't as easy as the last few meetings but the Rollins College Tars beat the Puerto Rico Mayaguez Tarzans 89-75 Monday night. The two teams had not met since the 2019-20 season but Rollins won for the 15th consecutive time against UPRM.

Cody Potter added 17 points and nine rebounds of his own, Kyle Marion stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, six rebounds and five assists, Cade Long added 11 points and six assists while, Sergey Grishaev added 11 points and seven rebounds. Potter knocked down a 3-pointer to start the scoring. After a 3-pointer by Jose Candelario tied things up a 3. The two teams saw the lead change hands a couple time before a 6-0 run put Rollins on top 11-6 after a Silveira layup just under six minutes into this one. After a pair of Silveira free throws the Tars lead grew to 10 (20-10) at the 12:16 mark of the opening half. After a Braxton Barnhizer 3-pointer with 7:23 until halftime Rollins held a 30-17 advantage. The Tars had a 17 point lead before a 3-pointer by Candelario made it 41-27 Rollins at halftime.

The lead was again 20 (57-37) at the 11:57 mark. Jaden Frazier made a basket to stretch the lead to a new game of 21 points (59-38) 50 seconds later. The next five points went to the Tarzans before another Barnhizer triple at the 9:01 mark. Two Potter free throws made it 71-51 with 5:21 on the clock. The lead was cut to the 10 twice but would hold on for the 14 point win.
