Tars Welcome Bayamon To Winter Park.

Last night the Tars were a 89-75 winner over Puerto Rico Mayaguez. Five Rollins players scored in double figures led by Matheus Silveira and Cody Potter. Silveira had 18 points and nine rebounds, while Potter added 17 points to go along with nine boards. Kyle Marion netted 13 points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out five assists, while both Cade Long and Sergey Grishaev tallied 11. The Tars shot 46.7 percent from the field but just went 8-29 from the 3-point line in the victory. They were also rock solid at the free throw line where they shot 89.3 percent (25-28.) On the season the Tars are at the bottom of the SSC averaging 73 points per game but on the defensive end they are fourth in the SSC giving up 70.3 points per contest. Rollins shoots 43.9 percent which is 10th in the SSC and are in the middle of the pack on defense where they let the opposition shoot 41.1 percent. They are also at the bottom of the SSC in 3-point percentage where they shoot a frigid 27 percent on the year. On defense they are eight guarding the 3-point line as the opposition shoots 33.1 percent. They are also ninth in 3-pointers made per game (6.8.) The Tars led the SSC shooting at a 83.3 percent clip from the free throw line while on the glass they are at the bottom of the conference being out rebounded by 0.5 (36.5-37.0) boards per night. Silveira leads the team and is ninth in the SSC scoring 16 points per game. Potter is also in the top 25 in the SSC putting up 12.8 points per night. On the boars Potter is 10th (eight per game) and Silveira is 20th (5.8 rebounds per contest. Silveira is sixth in the SSC shooting at a 63.6 percent clip from the field. Potter is eighth in the SSC shooting 52.6 percent from the 3-point line while he is also eighth making 2.5 triples per contest. Kyle Marion is fourth in the SSC in free throw percentage where he shoots 87.5 percent. Marion is third in assists per game (5.3) and assists to turnover ratio Marion also leads the team in steals at two per game. Cade Long is 10th in the SSC in minutes played (30.3 per night.)
Bayamon (0-2) is coming off a 89-56 loss to Eckerd last night. Bryant Rodriguez was the only Vaqueros to score in double figures as he netted 19 points. Jean Davilla added seven and a trio of players scored five. Bayamon shot 34.7 percent from the field, 3-22 from the 3-point line, and 86.4 percent (19-22) from the free throw line.
Rollins won the last meeting between the two teams last season by a score of 92-79. Rollins has dominated the season series with Bayamon having won each of the last seven matchups by double digits.
