Rollins Set To Face #19 Angleo State and Montana State Billings In the Daytona Beach Shootout.

 The Rollins College Tars head to Daytona Beach for the Daytona Beach Shootout. On Sunday the Tars will take on #19 Angelo State at 3 PM. Noting the Tars: Rollins (3-5 0-3 SSC) is coming off a 80-77 overtime loss at Lynn on Saturday. Matheus Silveira led the Tars with 18 points, Kyle Marion added 16, and Dylan Wolle tallied 14. Rollins shot 41.9 percent from the field, 27.3 percent (6-22) from the 3-point line, and 65.5 percent (19-29) at the free throw line in the defeat. Rollins scores 77.1 points per game while they give up 76.3 points per contest. The Tars shoot 45.5 percent to 44.8 percent for the opposition. From the 3-point line Rollins shot 30 percent while the opposition shoots 35.3 percent from long range. Rollins shoots 78.1 percent as a team from the free throw line while on the glass they get 35.5 rebounds per game as opposed to 35.1 rebounds per nights for the opponents. Rollins dishes out 18.8 assists per game, turns the ball over 14.8 times per night, gets 9.1 steals per game and blocks 4.1 shots per contest. Silveira leads the team in scoring at 18.1 points per game, shoots 61.2 percent from the field, and hauls in 5.8 rebounds per contest. He also has blocked 14 shots in eight contests. Marion is the only other Tar in double figures at 15 points per game and he leads the team in assists at more than four per night. Marion also leads the team in steals at two per game. 

 Noting the Rams: #19 Angelo State (8-1) is riding a seven game win streak after a a three point loss to New Mexico Highlands in the opening weekend of the season. Last time out they were a 74-65 winner over UT Permian Basin. Kevin Godwin had 22 points to lead the Rams, Keyshawn Simpson-Embery added 18 while Trey Farrer had 12 points to go along with 10 boards. The Rams shot 50.9 percent from the field, went 12-21 (57.1 percent) from the 3-point line and 75 percent (6-8) at the free throw line. ASU scores 78.4 points per game but allow just 68 points per contest. They shoot 48.1 percent from the floor and hold the opposition to 38.2 percent. From the 3-point line ASU shoots 40 percent while they guard the 3-point line as well holding the opposition to 28.1 percent shooting from 3-point land. The Rams shoot 75.6 percent from the free throw line and out rebound the opposition by 5.9 (37.9-32) boards per night. They dish out 14.8 assists per game as a team, turn it over 16.1 times per contest gets 7.0 steals per game and block 3.8 shots per night. Simpson-Embery puts up 17.7 points per game , Godwin gets 16.9 per night, and Farrer tallies 11.8 per contest. Farrer hauls in a team leading 7.3 rebounds per contest while Godwin and Willie Guy each have a team leading 32 assists on the year. Guy leads the team in steals with 19 and the team leader in blocks is Farrer with 11. 

Noting the Yellow Jackets: Montana State Billings (6-4) is coming off a 97-95 double overtime loss to Rocky Mountain College. It was the second straight overtime loss for Billings. In the loss to RMC five players from the Yellow Jackets tallied double figures. Zharon Richmond poured in a game high 27 points, Jalen Tot added 18, Famous Lefthand and Steven Richmond each tallied 12, while Daniel Moody netted 11. Billing scores 74.6 points per game while they give up 69.2 per contest. They shoot 44.2 percent from the field while the opposition shoots 42.3 percent. From the 3-point line they shoot 36.1 percent to 32.5 percent for the opposition. They shoot 74.5 percent from the free throw line, are +2.8 (37.7-34.9) on the glass. They dish out 16.2 assists per game, turn it over 12.7 times per contest, gets 7.4 steals per game and block 3.7 shots per night. Richmond puts up 13.2 per game, Lefthand gets 13 per night, Moody scores 12.6 per contest and Tot gets 11.3 per night. Moody leads the team with 8.2 rebounds per night, Tot leads the team with 3.3 assists per contest and also leads the team with 1.7 steals per game. Moody leads the team in blocks at 1.5 per game.
