Rollins Travels To Daytona To Battle Eagles

 The Rollins College Tars (5-10 2-6 SSC) head to Daytona Beach to take on the Embry-Riddle Eagles (10-6 4-4 SSC) on Saturday afternoon. Tip time is set for 4 PM from the ICI Center. You can catch all the action on 91.5 FM WPRK Winter Park and on SunshineStateConference.TV 

Last time out the Tars knocked off Tampa  88-84 on Saturday. Matheus Silveria led the Tars with 25 points, eight rebounds, and five assists in the victory. Both Kyle Marion and Sergey Grishaev netted 16 while Dylan Wolle notched 12. Rollins shot 53.4 percent from the floor, 41.7 percent (10-24) from the 3-point line and 80 percent (16-20) from the free throw line. Rollins scores an SSC worst 73.9 points per game while on defense they give up an SSC fifth best 79.8 points per contest. The Tars shoot an SSC 10th best 44.6 percent from the field while the opposition shoots 43.8 percent which is sixth on the defensive end. Rollins shoots an SSC worst 30.4 percent from the 3-point line and are 10th guarding the 3-point line as the opposition shoots 35.5 percent. Rollins shoots an SSC sixth best 74.3 percent from the free throw line. The Tars are the worst rebounding team in the SSC being out rebounded by 2.8 (35.8-38.6) boards per night. Silveria leads the Tars and is 10th in the SSC scoring 16.5 points per game. He also leads the team in rebounding at 6.2 per night, leads the team and is second in the SSC shooting 60 percent from the field, and is sixth in the SSC blocking 1.5 shots per game. Marion scores 14.2 points per game, dishes out an SSC seventh best 3.9 assists per game which is second on the team behind the 4.2 assists per game by Cade Long. Marion also gets 1.8 steals per game which is ninth in the SSC. Cody Potter is sixth in the SSC shooting at a 50 percent clip from the 3-point line. Grishaev is 10th in the SSC in blocks per game (0.9) and Long leads the conference in assist to turnover ratio.  

 ERAU scores 85.8 points per game which is fourth in the SSC while they give up an SSC sixth best 79.8 per night. The Eagles shoot an SSC second best 47.2 percent from the field while they are ninth on defense as the opposition shoots 44.8 percent. The Eagles shoot 39.5 percent from the 3-point line which is second in the SSC while they are last in the conference guarding the 3-point arc as the opposition shoots 36.5 percent from long range. The Eagles shoot an SSC second best 77 percent from the free throw line and are fourth in rebounding margin getting 4.1 (37.5-33.4) rebounds per night more than the opposition. They are fifth in both turnover margin and assist to turnover ratio while they block 3.73 shots per game which is sixth in the conference. The Eagles get 14.3 assists per game which is ninth in the SSC. Last time out the Eagles were a 105-75 winner over Saint Leo. Michael McCalister led the way with 23, Malcolm Whitlow had 18, Milan Scoria scored 17, Cameron Okeke-Shockley had 14, and Dru Nickson tallied 11. ERAU shot 53.4 percent from the field, a sizzling 54.1 percent (20-37) from the 3-point line and 73.3 percent (11-15) at the free throw line. Nickson and Whitlow lead the team in scoring at 13.4 per game, they are joined in double figures by Okekele-Shockley (13.1 per game,) McCalister (10.7 per night) and Danny Sully 10.1 per contest. Sully leads the team and is sixth in the SSC grabbing 8.6 rebounds per contest. Nickson dishes out 3.7 assists per game which is ninth in the SSC and is fifth in assist to turnover ratio. Nickson is also 10th in the conference playing 31.9 minutes per night.
