Stiff Test Awaits Rollins At #2 NSU

 The Rollins College Tars (5-12 2-8 SSC) fresh off a hard fought 88-85 loss to Florida Southern at home Wednesday night head to Fort Lauderdale to take on the second ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks (14-2 8-2 SSC) at Rick Case Arena. Kyle Marion led four Tars in double figures with 20 points on Wednesday. He was joined by Sergey Grishaev (19 points,) Mathues Silveira (17) and Cade Long (12.) The Tars shot 43 percent from the field, 34 percent (11-32) from the 3-point line, and 70.6 percent (12-17) from the free throw line. In the first meeting with NSU roughly two weeks ago Rollins fell 108-64. as Grishaev (14) and Marion (13) each scored in double figures. On offense the Tars score an SSC worst 74.6 points per game, shoot an SSC 10th best 44.5 percent from the field, shoot an SSC worst 30.8 percent from the 3-point line, shoot at an SSC sixth best 73.7 percent clip from the free throw line, and are 10th in the conference in turnover margin. On the defensive end they give up an SSC seventh best 80.9 points per night, are fifth in field goal percentage defense (43.6 percent,) ninth from the 3-point line (35.3 percent,) and are 10th being out rebounded by 3.3 (36.6-39.9) boards per night. The Tars dish out 16.94 assists per game which is fourth in the conference and are fifth in the conference blocking 3.65 shots per night. Silveira scores an SSC sixth best 17.1 points per game, leads the team grabbing 6.1 rebounds per contest, leads the SSC in field goal percentage (60.6 percent) and is blocking an SSC sixth best 1.4 shots per game. Marion puts up 13.8 points per game, dishes out an SSC ninth best 3.7 assists per night and gets a team leading 1.6 steals per game. Grishaev contributes 10.4 points per game while Cade Long leads the team and is fifth in the SSC dishing out 3.9 assists per game. Cody Potter is shooting an SSC fifth best 48.6 percent from the 3-point line and is making an SSC 10th best 2.1 triples per night. 

 NSU was a 116-74 winner over Saint Leo on Wednesday. Shane Hunter paced six Sharks in double figures with 18 points, Mike Moore had 17, GianFrnaco Garflas had 14, Isaiah Fuller added 13, Trey Doomes netted 12, and MJ Iraldi netted 10. The Sharks shot 51 percent from the field, 41 percent ((11-27) from the 3-point line and 77 percent (17-22) from the free throw line. In the first meeting with the Tars Alex Mangold paced NSU with 19, Ryker Cisarik had 18, Hunter added 14, Fuller tallied 12, and Doomes notched 10. As a team the Sharks average an SSC leading and DII second best 103.2 points per game, they are also fourth in assists per game (19.2 per night) in the country, they are second in all of D2 in fast break points (22.8 per contest,) and are fifth in free throws attempts per game (27.5.) They lead the SSC in field goal percentage (48.7 percent) are sixth in 3-point percentage (36.3 percent,) and seventh in free throw percentage (73.4 percent.) They are first in turnover margin and third in assist to turnover ratio in the SSC. They also block 3.94 shots per game which is fourth in the SSC. Hunter is eighth in the SSC scoring 16.8 points per game, Fuller gets 14.3 per night, CJ Iraldi tallies 12.2 per game, and Grafals gets 12.1 per contest. Hunter leads the team in rebounding at 6.9 per contest, Hunter (57.9 percent) and Fuller (47.6) are third and ninth respectively in the conference in field goal percentage. Ryan Welsh leads the SSC shooting 52.2 percent from the 3-point line. Fuller is third in the SSC shooting 87.7 percent from the free throw line while Iraldi is ninth shooting at a 81.1 percent clip from the foul line. Fuller is also eighth in the conference dishing out 3.8 assists per game. Hunter is third in the conference blocking 1.9 shots per game while Fuller is tied for the conference lead in steals (2.4 per game) and Ryan Davis is sixth in steals at 1.9 per contest.
