Rollins Looks For Rare Win Streak As They Host PBA

 The last time out the Rollins College Tars (6-13 3-9 MEC) won two games in a row was back on November 20th when they won three in a row against Warner (11/17/23,) Puerto Rico Mayaguez (11/20/23) and Puerto Rico Bayamon (11/22/23.) The Tars will look to change that tomorrow as they look to build off a 87-71 win over Florida Tech on Tuesday night. The Tars are 5-6 at home on the season. They will be in the friendly confines of Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center for a 4 PM tip against the  Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish. In the 87-71 win over the Panthers Cade Long scored a career high 21, Matheus Silveira added 21 to go along with nine rebounds, Sergey Grishaev added 19 to go with nine boards, while Kyle Marion added 13. Braxton Barnhizer added nine rebounds and eight assists of his own to facilitate the Tars offense. Rollins scores an SSC worst 74.6 points per game, shoots an SSC ninth best 44.4 percent from the field, an SSC worst 30.5 percent from long distance, shoots an SSC sixth best 73.8 percent from the free throw line, is 11th in the conference in turnover margin and seventh in assist to turnover ratio. They give up an SSC eight best 81.9 points per game, are fifth in field goal percentage against (43.6 percent,) and are eighth at guarding the 3-point line (35.2 percent.) The Tars are 10th in rebounding margin at 2.7 (37.1-39.8) boards per night. They block an SSC fifth best 3.58 shots per game. Silveira leads the team and is tied for ninth in the SSC scoring 16.7 points per game. He also grabs a team leading 6.1 rebounds per contest, shoots an SSC fourth best 58.8 percent from the field, and blocks an SSC sixth best 1.4 shots per night. Marion scores 13.2 points per game to go with an SSC tied sixth best 3.7 assists per night. He is joined by his teammate Long who also dishes out 3.7 assists per night. Marion also leads the team in steals at 1.5 per game. Grishav joins them in double figures at 11.3 points per contest. He also blocks 0.8 shots per game. In the first meeting with PBA in early December Rollins fell 85-70. Silveira led the way with 18 points and 11 rebounds, Dylan Wolle had 12, and Jack Kronague added 10 off the bench. 

 The Sailfish (13-7 7-5 SSC) are coming off a 83-55 win over Barry last time out. Grant Ledford led PBA with 20, Jamal Walker had 19, Broderick Ellis added 14, and Will Lee tallied 10 in the win. In the first meeting with the Tars Lee had 18, Dan Braster added 16, Ellis tallied 14, and Marcus Montalvo scored 11. PBA scores an SSC fourth best 86.3 points per game, shoots an SSC second best 47.5 percent from the field, an SSC sixth best 35.6 percent from the 3-point line, an SSC second best 76.9 percent at the free throw line, and dishes out an SSC second best 17.65 assists per night. On defense they give up an SSC third best 77.6 points per night, have an SSC fourth best 43.4 percent field goal percentage against, are leading the conference in guarding the 3-point line (29.6 percent.) They are fifth on the glass getting 2.9 more rebounds than the opposition (39.2-36.3.) They also block an SSC ninth best three shots per contest. Braster leads six Sailfish in double figure scoring at 12.9 points per game. He is joined by Lee (12.7 points per game,) Ledford (12.6 per night,) Jamal Walker (11.7 per contest,) Montalvo (11.6 per game) and Trent Mcnair (10.8) per game. Ledford leads the team in rebounding at 7.9 per game and is ninth in the conference in field goal percentage (46.8 percent.) Montalvo is second in the conference shooting at an 87.9 percent clip from the free throw line. Montalvo leads the team and is fifth in the SSC dishing out 3.8 assists per game as well. Braster blocks just under a shot per game and Montalvo is ninth in the SSC stealing the ball 1.8 times per contest.
