Tars Seek Sweep Of Tampa

 The Rollins College Tars (8-15 5-11 SSC) take on the University of Tampa Spartans (7-17 3-13 SSC) at the Martinez Sports Complex on Saturday. You can catch all the action on 91.5 FM WPRK and on SunshineStateConference.TV with a scheduled 4 PM tip off. 

 Rollins had the lead at halftime last time out but were ultimately swept by Embry-Riddle as the Eagles took the second matchup 94-81 at Warden Arena. Kyle Marin paced the Tars with 25 points, Dylan Wolle added 17, Matheus Silveira added 14 and Sergey Grishave tallied 12 in the defeat. In the first meeting with Tampa back on January 13th Rollins came away with a 88-84 win. Silveira led the way with 25, Marion and Grisahv added 16, while Wolle tallied 12. As a team the Spartans score an SSC eighth best 80.1 points per game, shoot an SSC worst 42.8 percent from the field, an SSC seventh best 36.3 percent from the 3-point line, shoot free throws at an SSC worst 68.4 percent, are ninth in turnover margin and last in assist to turnover ratio. They are also near the bottom of the conference in assists per game (13.8.) On defense the Spartans give up an SSC worst 86 points per contest, are tied for sixth in field goal percentage against with the Tars (44.8 percent,) are sixth at guarding the 3-point line (35 percent.) are being out rebounded by 1.3 (39.0-40.3) rebounds per night which is ninth in the SSC, while they block an SSC eighth best three shots per game. Williams is tied for fourth in the conference netting 17.4 points per game while he is seventh in the SSC dishing out 3.9 assists per night as well as getting an SSC fourth best two steals per contest. Davis puts up 15.1 per game, Leitao scores 12.8 per contest, and White tallies 11.3 per game.
