Tars Complete Sweep Of Bucs On Senior Day

 The Rollins College Tars completed the season sweep of the Barry Buccaneers with a 87-77 win at Warden Arena on Saturday. With the win Rollins concludes the season at 9-18 and 6-14 in the SSC. With the loss Barry drops to 15-13 and 8-12 in the SSC. 

 Rollins was paced by Matheus Silveira who had 26 points and 11 rebounds, Sergey Grishaev added 24 points and 13 rebounds, Kyle Marion netted 22 points and dished out six assists, while Cade Long tallied 12. Barry was led by Adren Roberts and Michael Bradley who each had 15, Nick Anderson added 14, and James Montgomery scored 11.

 The game went back and forth in the early going until a 7-0 Tars run gave them a 10-5 lead after a Marion 3-pointer at the 16:41 mark. A triple by Long made it 23-17 Rollins at the 13:25 mark of the opening half. A Bradley 3-ball for Barry cut the Rollins lead to two (26-24.) The game was knotted at 28 as Sami Elkamel would score. The game was tied at 36 after a Long basket at the 5:29 mark. Barry would ultimately take a 46-42 lead into the locker room. Barry shot 55.9 percent from the field, 35.7 percent (5-14) from the 3-point line, 42.9 percent (3-7) from the free throw line in the opening 20 minutes. The Tars shot 51.6 percent from the field, 35.7 percent (5-14) from the 3-point line, and 83.3 percent (5-6) from the free throw line in the opening half. 

 Rollins would regain the lead on a basket by Grishaev and and a Silveira jumper that made it 53-50 at the 15:41 mark. The lead remained five when Marion knocked down a three at the 10:43 mark to make it 62-57 Tars. A Grisahev hoop at the 8:10 mark would make the Rollins lead eight (68-60.) The lead would grow to 12 (79-67) on a hoop by Silveira at the 3:38 mark. Ultimately the Tars would come away with the 87-77 win. Rollins shot 49.3 percent as a team, 30.4 percent (7-23) from the 3-point line, and 82.4 percent (14-17) from the free throw line. Rollins had 25 assists and eight turnovers in the contest. They also won the rebounding battle 41-35. 

 Barry shot 47 percent from the field, 29.6 percent (8-27) from the 3-point line, and 46.7 percent (7-15) from the free throw line. They had 17 assists and eight turnovers in this one.
