Willingham Triple Lifts Minnesota State To DII Title.

 Kyreese Willingham knocked down a three pointer with .8 seconds left to lift the Minnesota State Mankato Mavericks to a 88-85 win and the D2 national title on Saturday night. Dylan Peeters led five Mavericks in double figures with 19 points. Justin Eagins added 17, while the trio of Malik and Kyreese Willingham along with Harrison Brandis each had 12. Minnesota State shot 52.4 percent from the field, 43.8 percent (14-32) from the 3-point line, and 57.1 percent (8-14) at the free throw line. They had 18 assists and 18 turnovers in the contest. The championship clinching win made the Mavericks 35-2 on the season. 

 The Sharks were led by MJ Iraldi with 25, Shane Hunter had 19 to go along with 10 rebounds, Isiah Fuller notched 12, and Ryder Cisarik added 11. NSU shot 44.6 percent from the field, 55.6 percent (5-9) from the 3-point line, and 70 percent (14-20) at the free throw line in the contest. They also won the rebounding battle 42-33. The Sharks had 10 assists and 13 turnovers in the contest. The defending DII national champs saw their season come to an end at 32-3.
