Rollins Welcomes Top Ranked Sharks To Warden Arena Saturday

 The Rollins College Tars (3-2 0-1 SSC) welcome the top ranked team in Division II basketball, the defending national runners up last season, the defending champs from two seasons ago in the Nova Southeastern University Sharks (6-0 0-0 SSC) to Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center.  Rollins is coming off a tough 86-66 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic in the conference opener for both teams. Sergey Grishaev led the Tars with 18 points and 10 rebounds, Beau Frericks had 14 points to go along with five assists, while Emillis Butkus added 12. The Tars shot a frigid 35.8 percent from the field and 20 percent (5-25) from the 3-point line. They shot at a 86.7 percent clip (13-15) at the free throw line. Rollins averages an SSC seventh best 81.2 points per night while they give up an SSC fifth best 79.8 points per contest. Rollins shoots 44.4 percent from the field which is good for seventh in the league, while at the other end they are fourth in opponent field goal percentage holding the opposition to 43.1 percent. The Tars have shot the ball well from the 3-point line as they are shooting an SSC second best 40 percent. They make an SSC third best 10 triples per contest and are seventh in the conference as the opposition shoots 35.8 percent from three. Rollins is shooting an SSC second best 83.5 percent from the free throw line on the young season. The Tars are sixth on the glass as they are out rebounding the opposition 38.6-35.2. Rollins is 10th in turnover margin (-2.80) and seventh in assist to turnover ratio (1.29.) The Tars block an SSC fifth best 3.6 shots per game, are third in assists (17.6 per night,) and 10th in steals (six per game.) Frericks leads the team and is fifth in the SSC scoring 19.4 points per game. He dishes out a team leading 5.6 assists per game which is also fifth in the conference, is just outside the top 10 in field goal percentage (51.8 percent) and is eighth in the conference in minutes played at 33 per night. He also shoots an SSC eighth best 89.2 percent at the free throw line.  Butkus puts up 17 per game while he is shooting an SSC sixth best 48.5 percent from the 3-point line and is second in 3-pointer's made per game (3.2.) Sergey Grishaev scores 15.8 points per game, is grabbing an SSC fifth best 8.6 rebounds per night, while he blocks an SSC 10th best 1.4 shots per contest. Jon Latimer rounds out the double digit scorers at 14 per game. 

 #1 NSU is coming off a 120-64 pasting of Florida National on Wednesday. All 12 Nova players who saw action scored. MJ Iraldi led the double digit scorers with 19, Tyler Eberhart notched 15, Alex Mangold had 14, Tommy Sala netted 11, and Jarvis Wright tallied 10.  The Sharks forced 31 Florida National turnovers in the win. The Sharks shot 54.7 percent from the field, 22.7 percent from three, and 77.8 percent at the free throw line. As a team NSU leads the SSC and is second in the country scoring 111.3 points per game. They shoot an SSC second best 54.2 percent from the floor, shoot 38.4 percent from the 3-point line which is good for fourth in the SSC, shoot at a SSC seventh best 74.1 percent from the free throw line. The Sharks are third in rebounding margin at +8.5 (46.2-37.7.) They lead the league in both turnover margin and assist to turnover ratio. Iraldi leads the SSC and is 12th in the country putting up 25.2 points per game. He shoots an SSC fourth best 58.8 percent from the field, an SSC fifth best 50 percent 50 percent from the 3-point line, and an SSC third best 95.5 percent from the charity stripe. Ross Reeves scores 17..7 per game, Ryker Cisarik puts up 17.3 per night which is just outside the top 10 in the conference. He is fourth in the SSC though grabbing 8.7 rebounds per night, he also leads the team in blocked shots a 1.3 per game. Tyler Eberhart scores 13 per game, Dallas Grazianni puts up 12.2 per night, and Jarvis Wright scores 10 per contest. Graziani leads the SSC and the country dishing out 10.8 assists per night while he also leads the country and the SSC getting more than four steals per game. Nova rolled through the two meetings versus Rollins last year winning by scores of 110-62 and 108-64.
