Rollins Set To Host Flagler

 The Rollins College Tars (5-4) host the Flagler College Saints (5-2) at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center on Tuesday (12/17.) Tip time is slated for 5 PM. The Tars have not played since a narrow 87-84 loss at Barry on 12/7. John Latimer led four Rollins players in double figures with 24 points in the loss, Emillis Butkus added 20, Beau Frericks notched 19, and Sergey Grishaev chipped in 15 in the loss. The Tars shot a respectable 44.6 percent from the field but struggled from both the 3-point line (8-28 for 28.6 percent) and the free throw line (10-16 for 62.5 percent.) The Tars put up 86.8 points per game while they give up 78.9 points per contest. Rollins shoots 49.1 percent from the field, 38.5 percent from the 3-point line, and 81.4 percent at the free throw line. They are out rebounding the opposition by nearly five boards per contest (38.3-33.4) they dish out 19.2 assists per night, are -1.3 in turnover margin, get 7.9 steals per game, and block 3.4 shots per night. Butkus leads the team in scoring at 17.4 points per game while he shoots 57.3 percent from the field and 47.7 percent from the 3-point line. Frericks notches 116.7 points per game, a team high 4.8 assists per game, while shooting 49.5 percent from the floor, 39.4 percent from the 3-point line and 89.1 percent at the free throw line. Grishaev scores 15.7 points per game while he grabs a team leading 6.6 rebounds to go along with one blocked shot per night. Latimer rounds out the double digit scorers at 15.1 points per game to go with four assists per night and a team leading two steals per night. 

 Flagler is coming off a 89-82 win over Georgia Southwestern on 12.7. Jalen Jordon led the Saints with 19 points, he was joined in double figures by Max Bouknight and Max Hrdlicka who each had 14, while Josiah Shackelford tallied 11. Jordon led the team in rebounds with eight and Bouknight in assists with eight in the victory. The Saints shot 52.7 percent from the floor, 50 percent (11-22) from the 3-point line, and 64.5 percent (20-31) at the free throw line. Flagler puts up 89 points per game while they give up 80.7 per night. They shoot 48.1 percent from the field and 38.8 percent from three on the season. The opponents shoot 46.3 percent from the field and just 30.4 percent from long distance. The Saints shoot 77.9 percent from the free throw line. They out rebound the opposition by 1.3 (37.3-36 rebounds per night.) Jordon leads the team in scoring (17.6 points per game,) rebounding (10.6 per night) and blocked shots (four.) Bouknight scores 15.3 per game while he dishes out 4.7 assists per night. He also leads the team in steals with 10. Destin Clark adds 14.7 per game and Shackelford tallies 12 per contest. 

 The last time the Saints and Tars met was on 12/3/22 when the Saints won 94-93. Omar Figueroa (who is now a member of Rollins but out with an injury) had 24 points to lead the Saints, Chase Fiddler had 21, Jaylen Lemons added 17, Spencer Bain scored 15, and Kyle Young notched 14. For the Tars in that contest, Hutton Yenor poured in a game high 34 points and Kyle Marion added 17.
