Tars Hit The Road As They Take On Barry In Miami Shores.

 The Rollins College Tars hit the road for the first time this season as they take on the Barry Buccaneers in Miami Shores,Florida at the Barry Health&Sports Center. Tip time is scheduled for 4 PM.  Rollins (5-3 0-2 SSC) is coming off a pair of non conference wins last week, as they defeated Puerto Rico Bayamon 83-55 and Beacon College 114-60. In the most recent contest against Beacon all 12 Tars who saw action scored paced by career highs by Dylan Wolle (18 points) and William Jobe (15.) Beau Frericks added 12, both John Latimer and Emillis Butkus notched 11, and Michael Niemann tallied 10 in the win. Rollins shot 62.5 percent from the floor, 46.4 percent (13-28) from the 3-point line, and 91.7 percent (11-12) at the free throw line. Rollins is the fourth best scoring team in the SSC putting up 87.1 points per game while they are sixth in the conference on the defensive end giving up 77.9 points per night. The Tars have shot the ball well as they are second in the SSC shooting 49.8 percent from the field, lead the conference in 3-point percentage (39.9 percent,) and are the top free throw shooting team in the conference (83.9 percent.) They are seventh at guarding the 3-point line as the opposition shoots 34.1 percent, while they are +6 (38-32) rebounds per game which is fifth in the SSC. Rollins is 10th in turnover margin (-2.13) and fifth in assist to turnover ratio (1.45.) Rollins blocks an SSC seventh best 3.5 shots per game, dish out 19.88 assists (third in the conference) per game, and nab 7.38 steals which is eighth in the SSC.  Barry (4-3 1-1 SSC) has won three straight and is coming off a 74-72 upset win over Palm Beach Atlantic last time out. Malik Stanley led four Buccaneers in double figures with 20 points, Akeem Crnadon notched 14 to go along with 13 rebounds, Jimel Lane had 13, and Adren Roberts notched 10. Barry shot 40.6 percent from the field, 22.2 (4-18) from the 3-point line, and 70 percent (14-20) from the free throw line in the win. Barry scores 75.6 points per game which is ninth in the conference, on defense they are also ninth as they give up 79.6 points per night. Barry is near the bottom of the conference in field goal percentage (42.9 percent) as well as 3-point shooting where they shoot 31.9 percent. The Bucs shoot an SSC ninth best 71.6 percent from the free throw line. On defense they are eighth in field goal percentage against (43.9 percent,) second at guarding the 3-point line as they are holding the opposition to 28.4 percent shooting from the 3-point line, they are ninth in turnover margin (-1.14,) and 10th in the SSC in assist to turnover ratio (0.97.) Hernandez is fifth in the conference in free throw shooting (91.4 percent,) while he leads the team and is eighth in the SSC dishing out 4.3 assists per night. Crandon is fifth in the conference blocking 1.6 shots per game. Hernandez is sixth in the SSC in minutes played (32.6 per game.)
