Second Half Surge Lifts Rollins Past Eckerd.

 The Rollins College Tars outscored Eckerd College 43-33 in the second half on the way to a 80-74 road win at the McArthur Center. With the win Rollins improves to 5-6 and 2-2 in the Sunshine State Conference. Eckerd drops to 5-6 and 2-3 in the SSC after the defeat.   The game could not have started out much worse for the Tars. Eckerd led 7-0 after a Kent Gerard layup at the 17;51 mark of the opening half. Rollins leading scorer Hutton Yenor left the game two minutes in with an injury and would not return. Cody Potter would finally get the Tars on the board with a 3-pointer at the 17:03 mark of the first half. The next eight points would go to the Tritons as they would lead 15-3 after a Garard jumper at the 14:47 mark of the half. Rollins would then go on a 13-0 run capped by a Kyle Marion jumper at the 9:42 mark that put the Tars up 16-15. Tars Look To Get Back On Track At Eckerd.

 The Rollins College Tars (4-6 1-2 SSC) look to get back on track after a pair of losses against ranked opponents at the Holiday Hoops Classic in Las Vegas. The Tars take on the Eckerd College Tritons (5-5 2-2 SSC) at the MacArthur Center in Saint Pete. In the contest against Dominican the trio of Hutton Yenor (21 points) along with Cade Long and Kyle Marion (13 points each) combined for 47 of the 57 points the team scored. The only other Tars to score on 12/18 when that game were played were John Latimer (five points,) Matheus Silveira (three points,) and Sergey Grishaev (two points.) Rollins Rolled by #7 Missouri-St.Louis.

 The Rollins College Tars fell in day two of the Holiday Hoops Classic as they were rolled by #7 Missouri St.Louis 91-66. With the loss Rollins falls to 4-6 on the season while the Tritons improved to 11-0 with the victory.   Rollins scored the first six points of the contest as Hutton Yenor made a jumper and they got a pair of baskets by Matheus Silveira. The Tritons would go on a 21-8 run and after a Bowen Sandquist 3-pointer the Tritons led 21-8 with 9:11 to go in the opening half. Rollins trimmed the lead to nine (23-14) after a Jaden Frazier and one at the 7:12 mark of the first half. It would be a 13 points (39-26) lead for the Tritons at the half.   The Tars would get to within 11 a couple of times but they could not get any closer. Cold Shooting Dooms Rollins In Vegas.

 The Rollins College Tars struggled shooting the ball all afternoon in the Holiday Hoops Classic in Las Vegas and ultimately lost 59-57 to the #21 Dominican University Chargers. With the loss Rollins drops to 4-5 on the season. The Chargers improved to 10-1 after another narrow victory.   Both teams came out ice cold from the floor as Rollins would lead 4-0 at the first media timeout of the contest. After the Charger tied the game Rollins went back on top after a hoop by Kyle Marion. Rollins would lead by six (18-12) after a four point play by Cade Long. After a Marion old fashioned three point play Rollins took a six point lead (28-22) into the locker room.   The Chargers came out firing in the second half as Rollins had trouble taking care of the ball in the early stages of the second stanza. Tars Set For Annual Vegas Trip.

 The Rollins College Tars are set for the teams annual trip to Las Vegas. This season the Tars (4-4 1-2 SSC) will play in the Holiday Hoops Classic. They will face #23 Dominican University (New York) on Sunday for a 2 PM tip before taking on #11 University of Missouri-St.Louis on Monday at 3:15 PM. Kyle Marion led four Rollins players in double figures with 18 points, Matheus Silviera nearly notched a double -double (17 points and nine rebounds,) John Latimer continued his early season surge with 16 points, while Hutton Yenor netted 14. Rollins Knocks Off Barry.

 The Rollins College Tars went down to Miami Shores and picked up their first conference win of the season as they knocked off Barry 86-79. With the win Rollins improves to 4-4 and 1-2 in the SSC. Barry falls to 3-3 and 1-2 in the SSC.   Kyle Marion paced the Tars with 18 points, Matheus Silviera netted 17 and grabbed nine rebounds, John Latimer knocked down three 3-pointer on his way to 16 points, while Hutton Yenor tallied 14. Rollins shot 55.8 percent from the field, 57.1 percent (8-14) from the 3-point line, 74 percent (20-27) from the free throw line.  Nick Anderson led Barry with 29, Malik Stanley scored 12, and both Jason Williams and Rusty Moorer scored 10. Rollins Travels To Miami Shores To Battle Barry Saturday.

 The Rollins College Tars (3-4 0-2 SSC) head to Miami Shores to battle the Barry University Buccaneers (3-2 1-1 SSC) on Saturday. The Tars score 83.4 points per game on the season while they give up 81.7 points per night. They shoot 49.5 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from the 3-point line. Late Triple Sinks Tars In See-Saw Affair.

 In a game that featured 21 ties and 30 lead changes Flagler got a 3-pointer from Spencer Bain with one second left that got the Saints past Rollins College 94-93 in an entertaining battle at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center. With the win Flagler improves to 5-4 while Rollins drops to 3-4 after the defeat.   The game would go back and forth in the early going as it would all day long. After a Cody Potter 3-pointer Rollins would lead 14-12 at the 13:29 mark of the opening stanza. Chase Fiddler and Cam Corcoran would trade triples the next time down the court for each team.  The Rollins College Tars and Flagler College Saints are set to clash at Warden Arena on Saturday night.
