Frericks Triple Powers Rollins To Sweep In Puerto Rico.

 Beau Frericks drilled a triple at the buzzer, one of his seven 3-point baskets on the day as the Rollins College Tars completed a sweep in Puerto Rico on two fronts. The first sweep was of the Puerto Rican trip this weekend and the second sweep was a season sweep of Puerto Rico Bayamon, as the Frericks triple gave the Tars a 80-77 win on Sunday in a game that featured 17 ties and 21 lead changes. With the win Rollins improves to 7-5 on the year. Bayamon falls to 0-8 following the defeat.   The two teams would go back and forth in the early stages as the contest would be knotted at 14 after a pair of Sergey Grishaev free throws at the 13:59 mark of the opening half. Bayamon would open up a seven point lead (26-19) after Evan Colon converted a layup at the 9:18 mark of the opening stanza. Tars Start Puerto Rico Trip On A Positive Note

 The Rollins College Tars opened played in San Juan, Puerto Rico on Friday night. Rollins got off to a slow start but the offense clicked in the second half in a 83-63 win against Puerto Rico Rio Piedras. With the win Rollins improves to 6-5 and 0-3 in the SSC. The Gallitos fell to 0-5 after the loss on Friday night.   Both teams got off to a slow start on the offensive end as Rollins led 4-0 after a Segey Grishav layup at the 17:21 of the opening half. Alex River hit a triple for the Gallitos and then Rollins retook the lead on a John Latimer basket with 14:18 in the opening half. The Tars lead grew to 11 (19-8) on a Dylan Wolle trey with 11:04 until halftime. The lead remained in double digits as Beau Frericks converted on a layup with 4:03 until halftime that made it 28-17. Rollins Heads To San Juan To Take On Rio-Piedras And Bayamon This Weekend

 The Rollins College Tars head to San Juan, Puerto Rico this weekend. Tonight (Friday)  the Tars will battle Puerto Rico Rio Piedras at 8 PM. Then on Sunday Rollins will battle Puerto Rico Bayamon for the second time this season. Tars Edged By Saints At Home

 For much of the 2024-25 Rollins College Men's basketball season 3-point shooting has been a strength. The Tars came into Tuesday's contest in the top three in the SSC from long range. Tuesday was a different story as the Flagler Saints held Rollins to 19 percent shooting (4-19) from distance while the Saints shot 44.8 percent (13-29) from the 3-point line. That would be a large factor as Flagler came away with the 85-79 win at Warden Arena. With the loss Rollins drops to 5-5 on the season. Flagler improved to 6-2 after the win.   John Latimer scored the first four points for the Tars before Flagler got the lead back. A bucket by Latimer made it 6-5 Rollins in the early going.  The Rollins College Tars (5-4) host the Flagler College Saints (5-2) at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center on Tuesday (12/17.) Tip time is slated for 5 PM. Rollins Furious Rally Falls Short At Barry.

 The Rollins College Tars were down 17 (70-53 with 8:54 to go at the Barry Sport and Heath Center on Saturday. They would go on a 14-0 run to pull to within three (70-67) with 6:14 on the clock. Rollins would pull to within one on a pair of occasions but would fall short 87-84. Rollins falls to 5-4 and 0-3 in the SSC after the defeat. Barry would improve to 5-3 and 2-1 in the SSC after the win.   The two squads would go back and forth in the early going as the game would be knotted at 12 after a John Latimer layup at the 15:10 mark of the opening half. Rollins Rolls As Wolle And Jobe Post Carrer Highs.

 The Rollins College Tars got career highs from Dylan Wolle (18 points) and William Jobe (15 points) as they rolled to a 114-60 win over the Beacon College Blazers on Tuesday night. With the win Rollins improves to 5-3 on the season while Beacon falls to 1-7 after the defeat.   The Tars jumped the Blazers with the first nine points of the game and never looked back. After Ian Hart and Beau Frericks hit back to back triples Rollins had a 21-5 lead at the 14:51 mark of the opening half. That lead grew to 22 (31-9) after a Michael Kalina triple with 11:44 until halftime. After a Jared Carter 3-pointer for Beacon the Tars ran off the next six points.
