Tars Trio Combine For 64 in Loss to Florida Southern

 The trio of Matheus Silveria (23 points,)Kyle Marion (22), and Sergey Grishaev (19) combined for 64 points but it was not enough as Rollins fell 106-84 to Florida Southern College at Jenkins FieldHouse Wednesday night. Rollins falls to 8-18 and 5-14 in the SSC with the loss. FSC improves to 21-8 and 15-4 in the SSC with the win.  The two teams went back and forth in the early minutes but a 4-0 Rollins run made it 16-12 Tars after a Marion layup with 15:04 to go in the opening half. The game was knotted at 22 after a Luke Anderson hoop at the 13:08 mark of the half. FSC opened up a six point lead before Rollins scored four straight to get to within two (28-26) with 10:38 until halftime. Rollins Heads To FSC In Final Regular Season Road Trip

 The Rollins College Tars (8-17 5-13 SSC) head to Lakeland as they take on the Florida Southern College Moccasins (20-8 14-5 SSC) at Jenkins FieldHouse on Wednesday night. Tip time is set for 7:30 PM and you can catch all the action on SunshineStateConference.TV  Rollins was a 98-81 loser to Lynn on the road last time out. Sergey Grishaev had 22 points, Matheus Silveira added 20, Kyle Marion netted 13, and Cade Long tallied 10 in the defeat. In the first meeting with the Mocs (a 88-85 loss on January 24th Marion had 20, Grisahev added 19, Silveira tallied 17, and Long chipped in 12. Rollins Dumped By Lynn On The Road.

 Four players scored in double figures but it was not enough for the Rollins College Tars as they fell 98-81 at the De Hoernle Center on Wednesday night. Sergey Grishaev scored 22 points, Matheus Silveira added 20, Kyle Marion added 13, and Cade Long tallied 10. With the loss Rollins falls to 8-17 and 5-13 in the SSC. Lynn had five players score in double figures. Nordin Kapic led the Fighting Knights with 24 points, Jalen Gilmore added 20, Tradavis Thompson added 19, while both Ben Gahlert and Ricky Ballard added 12. With the win Lynn improves to 15-8 and 10-7 in the SSC.   The teams went back and forth in the early going as Grishaev knocked down a jumper at the 13:14 mark of the first half.  The Rollins College Tars (8-16 5-12 SSC) head to Lynn to take on the Fighting Knights (14-8 9-7 SSC) on Wednesday night at 7:30 PM at the deHoernle Sports Center. Spartans Slip Past Tars

 The Tampa Spartans slipped past the Rollins College Tars 79-77 on Saturday at the Martinez Sports Complex. With the win Tampa improves to 8-17 and 4-13 in the SSC. Rollins falls to 8-16 and 5-11 in the SSC following the defeat.  Matheus Silveria led Rollins with 20 points, Kyle Marion netted 19, Dylan Wolle knocked down five triples on his way to 17, and Braxton Barnhizer tallied 10. As a team the Tars shot 46.6 percent from the floor, 44 percent (11-25) from the 3-point line, and 80 percent (12-15) from the free throw line.  The Spartans were paced by Jesse White with 23, Bryan Williams had 14, Tyson Leitao added 11, and Drew Knuppel tallied 10. Tars Seek Sweep Of Tampa

 The Rollins College Tars (8-15 5-11 SSC) take on the University of Tampa Spartans (7-17 3-13 SSC) at the Martinez Sports Complex on Saturday. Four Tars Score In Double Digits But They Are Swept By The Eagles

 Four Rollins College Tars scored in double figures. Kyle Marion paced Rollins with 25 points, Dylan Wolle notched 17, Matheus Silveria netted 14, and Sergey Grishaev tallied 12 but it was not enough as Rollins fell 94-81 to the Embry-Riddle Eagles. With the loss Rollins falls to 8-15 and 5-11 in the SSC. ERAU improves to 15-8 and 9-6 in the SSC as they complete the season sweep of the Tars.   In a game that featured four ties and 11 lead changes it was very competitive in the first half. Long, Silveira, And Marion Power Rollins Past Eckerd.

 Cade Long, Matheus Silveira, and Kyle Marion combined to score 63 points and powered the Rollins College Tars to a 83-80 win over the Eckerd College Tritons at Warden Arena on Saturday. With the win Rollins improves to 8-14 and 5-10 in the SSC. Eckerd falls to 12-11 and 7-8 in the SSC after the loss.   The trio of Long, Silveira, and Marion got things going for Rollins early. Silveria and Marion each made a basket before a Long 3-pointer gave the Tars a 7-0 lead 1:27 into this one.  The Rollins College Tars shot a sizzling 61.7 percent from the field which included making 50 percent (11-22) of the teams shots from long range and going 8-11 (72.7 percent) from the free throw line in a 93-74 win over Saint Leo at the Marion Bowman Activities Center. With the win Rollins improves to 7-14 and 4-10 in the SSC.  The Rollins College Tars had five players score in double figures as they fell 95-77 to Palm Beach Atlantic and were swept in the season series. Sergey Grishaev had 18, Cade Long knocked down four triples on his way to 17 points, Kyle Marion added 16, Matheus Silveira added 14, while Dylan Wolle added 10. Rollins fell to 6-14 and 3-10 in the SSC. On the other side Jamal Walker had 26, Grant Ledford had 21, Will Lee added 16, Trent Mcnair tallied 12, and Marcus Montalvo notched 10. PBA improved to 14-7 and 8-5 in the SSC with the win.   The Tars got a Wolle 3-pointer to start the scoring in this one. A Grishaev triple made it 6-2 early in favor of the home team. Rollins Looks For Rare Win Streak As They Host PBA

 The last time out the Rollins College Tars (6-13 3-9 MEC) won two games in a row was back on November 20th when they won three in a row against Warner (11/17/23,) Puerto Rico Mayaguez (11/20/23) and Puerto Rico Bayamon (11/22/23.) The Tars will look to change that tomorrow as they look to build off a 87-71 win over Florida Tech on Tuesday night. The Tars are 5-6 at home on the season. They will be in the friendly confines of Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center for a 4 PM tip against the  Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish.
