Rollins Routs Bayamon

 That is the kind of game the Rollins College Tars needed. The Tars led for nearly the entire contest and routed the Vaqueros of Puerto Rico Bayamnon 83-55 at Warden Arena on Wednesday. Rollins improves to 4-3 with the win while Bayamon falls to 0-5 with the loss.   John Latimer paced the Tars with 19 points, six assists, and four steals. Sergey Grishav added 17 points and Ian Hart tallied 15 points to go along with six boards. Rollins shot 57.9 percent from the field, 28.6 percent (6-21) from the 3-point line and 68.8 percent (11-16) at the free throw line.   Bayamon was led by Bryant Rodriguez who had 12 points and six rebounds, Jeremy Matos added 11, and Victor Carillo was held to just 10 points on 4-14 shooting from the field after his 41 point outburst at Eckerd last time out. Tars Take On Vaqueros In Pre-Thanksgiving Tilt

 The Rollins College Tars welcome the Puerto Rico Bayamon Vaqueros to Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center for a 2 PM tip the day before thanksgiving (11/27.) Rollins Shows They Can Hang With The Big Boys In Loss To #1 NSU

 The result of Saturday's matchup between #1 Nova Southeastern and the Rollins College Tars at Warden Arena on Saturday does not tell the full story. Rollins proved that they can hang with the best teams in the country if they play like they did, especially offensively in this one. Interim head coach Kevin Hogan had the Tars ready to play, they trailed by three at the half before ultimately falling 109-94 to the top ranked Sharks. The game featured seven ties and nine lead changes.   Rollins (3-3 0-2 SSC) had five players score in double figures in the contest. Cold Shooting Tars Woes Continue Versus PBA

 The Rollins College Tars were hoping a near year would produce different results when it came to playing the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish. In what was the Sunshine State Conference opener for both teams Rollins fell the sixth time in a row and ninth time in the last 10 meetings against Palm Beach Atlantic by a score of 86-66 at Warden Arena. The loss was also the third straight for the Tars by double digits to PBA.   Rollins (3-2 0-1 SSC) shot just 35.8 percent from the field and 20 percent (5-25) from the 3-point line in the loss. They did shoot 86.7 percent (13-15) from the free throw line.  The Rollins College Tars (3-1) open Sunshine State Conference (SSC) play when they take on the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish (3-0-) today (11/19) at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center. Short- Handed Tars Hang On To Knock Off Pesky Eagles

 The Rollins College Tars were playing a little short-handed on Saturday playing without Jon Latimer and Matus Malovec but they hung on to hold off a pesky University of Fort Lauderdale team 75-72 at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center.   Rollins (3-1) had five players score in double figures on the day paced by 24 points, 6 assists, and a steal from Beau Frericks. Emillis Butkus netted 15, Ian Hart knocked down four triples on his way to 13 points to go along with eight rebounds, while Dylan Wolle added 10, and Sergey Grishaev chipped in 10 of his own to go along with eight rebounds.   UFL (2-2) was led by Jimel Cofer who scored all 20 of his points in the second half, Vugar Kuliev added 16, Benez Woodard tallied 11, and De'Andre Pemberton scored 10.  The Rollins College Tars saw 11 players see action on Wednesday night at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center, nine of them knocked down a 3-point shot, and The Tars led from wire to wire in a 83-63 win over the Warner Royals. Rollins improves to 2-1 on the season while the Royals played the game as an exhibition so they remain with a 2-2 record.   Sergey Grishaev paced the Tars with game highs in points (21) and rebounds (12,) Emillis Butkus scored in double figures for the third time in three games with 14, Beau Frericks added 12, and Jon Latimer contributed 10.  The Rollins College Tars dug themselves a 20 point early in the first half, rallied all the way back to force overtime but could not finish the job in a 80-75 loss in day two of the SSC/SIAC crossover at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center. Offense Powers Tars To Season Opening Win

 You knew going into Friday's season opener of the SSC/SIAC Crossover at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center things were going to be a little different. For the first time in 40+years Tom Klusman was not on the sidelines as his back wouldn't allow that. He would have been proud of the effort his team gave and the offense was the key in a 107-98 win over Spring Hill College.   The Tars scored the most points they have since the 2022 season. They were paced by four players who led the way in scoring. Beau Frericks scored 28 points and dished out 10 assists, Sergey Grisahev poured in 23, Emilis Butkus knocked down six triples on his way to 22, and Jon Latimer netted 18. Rollins Opens Campaign With South Region Crossover In Winter Park

 The Rollins College Tars will open the 2024-25 campaign today (Friday 11/8) when they take on Spring Hill College and then tomorrow (Saturday 11/9) the Tars will battle Edward Waters University. Both games are scheduled to tip at 4:30 PM. Edward Waters will battle Florida Tech today at 2 PM while tomorrow Spring Hill will tussle with Florida Tech at 2 PM.
