Marion, Silveira, Barnhizer combine for 51 in Road Loss To Florida Tech.

 Rollins College got a combined 51 points from the trio of Matheus Silveira, Kyle Marion, and Braxton Barnhizer but it was not nearly enough in a 96-73 road loss to Florida Tech at the Charles & Ruth Clemente Center. With the loss Rollins drops to 3-3 (0-1 SSC.) The Panthers improve to a perfect 6-0 on the season.   Barnhizer hit a pair of 3-pointer's in the games first 1:47 and the Tars led 6-1. Chase Thompson and Rashaan Edwards hit triples of their own to put the Panthers up 7-6. Barnhizer's third straight triple gave Rollins a 9-7 lead at the 16:55 mark of the first half. The lead was short-lived as a 3-pointer and a layup by Thompson put FIT ahead by a score of 12-9. Silveira and McCullough traded dunks before a Silveira jumper trimmed the Panthers lead to one (14-13) five minutes into this one. Tars Open Conference Play In Melbourne

 The Rollins College Tars open conference play when they travel to Melbourne to take on the Florida Tech Panthers. Tip time is set for 6 PM from the Charles and Ruth Clemente Center. Last time out the Tars took care of Puerto Rico Bayamon 105-68 led by 26 points from Matheus Silveira. Four other Tars scored in double figures in the win. Rollins comes into tonight's contest ninth in the conference in scoring at 79.4 points per game. On the defensive end they are fourth in the SSC giving up 69.8 points per contest. Rollins shoot an SSC ninth best 46.9 percent from the floor and are 10th in the SSC shooting 30.1 percent from the 3-point line. Rollins Routs Bayamon Wednesday.

 The Rollins College Tars had five players score in double figures led by Matheus Silveira who posted 26 points and five rebounds in a 105-68 rout of the Puerto Rico Bayamon Vaqueros Wednesday at Warden Arena. Kyle Marion added 16, Sergey Grishaev added 12, while both Cody Potter and Dylan Wolle scored 10. Rollins improves to 3-2 with the victory.   The Vaqueros fell to 0-3 on the season. Luis Moya and Victor Carillo each scored 12, while Bryant Rodriguez added nine in the defeat. Bayamon was led on the glass by Moya and Jean DeSliva with three. Carillo led the team with three assists as well.   The two teams went back and forth in the early going as the game was tied at 10 at the 16:20 mark of the first half.  The Rollins College Tars (2-2) welcome the Puerto Rico Bayamon Vaqueros to Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center for a Wednesday matinee. Tip time is set for 3 PM. You can catch all the action on 91.5 FM WPRK Winter Park and on SunshineStateConference.TV  Last night the Tars were a 89-75 winner over Puerto Rico Mayaguez. Five Rollins players scored in double figures led by Matheus Silveira and Cody Potter. Silveira had 18 points and nine rebounds, while Potter added 17 points to go along with nine boards. Kyle Marion netted 13 points, grabbed six rebounds, and dished out five assists, while both Cade Long and Sergey Grishaev tallied 11. Rollins Continues Dominance of Mayaguez With 15th straight Win.

 It wasn't as easy as the last few meetings but the Rollins College Tars beat the Puerto Rico Mayaguez Tarzans 89-75 Monday night. The two teams had not met since the 2019-20 season but Rollins won for the 15th consecutive time against UPRM.   Five Rollins (2-2)  players scored in double figures led by Matheus Silveira who scored 18 points and pulled down nine rebounds. Cody Potter added 17 points and nine rebounds of his own, Kyle Marion stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, six rebounds and five assists, Cade Long added 11 points and six assists while, Sergey Grishaev added 11 points and seven rebounds. Potter knocked down a 3-pointer to start the scoring. After a 3-pointer by Jose Candelario tied things up a 3.  The Rollins College Tars (1-2) continue the teams current five game home stand when they take on Puerto Rico Mayaguez this evening (Monday.) Rollins Nips Warner For First Win Of 2023-24 Campaign.

   Matheus Silveira scored 19 points, Kyle Marion added 16, and Cody Potter scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Rollins Tars (1-2) were a 67-61 winner over the Warner Royals at Warden Arena on Friday afternoon. Rollins shot 40 percent from the field and 20 percent (5-25) from the 3-point line in the victory. The Tars shot 78 percent (14-18) from the free throw line. They had 17 assists and 15 turnovers in the contest.   For the Royals (2-2) who played this game as an exhibition Christian nurse scored 20 and Jamal Norris added 12 in the contest. Warner shot 42 percent from the field and 26 percent (7-27) from the 3-point line in the defeat. They also were just 5-8 (57 percent) from the free throw line. The Royals won the rebounding battle 40-35. They had 15 assists and 22 turnovers in this one.   Rollins jumped out to a 10-4 lead early as Kyle Marion knocked down a jumper just over four minutes in. Tars Set To Battle Royals in Winter Park Friday.

 The Rollins College Tars will take on the Warner Royals at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center on Friday afternoon. Lions Sink Tars Wednesday Night.

 The Lincoln University Lions improved to 2-1 on the season as they knocked off the Rollins College Tats (0-2) 80-73 at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center Wednesday night. Rollins had three players in double figures in the loss as Kyle Marion poured in 27 points, Matheus Silveira added 19, while Cody Potter stuffed the stat sheet with 13 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in the losing effort.   The first four points went to the Lions before Cody Potter would score the next five to give Rollins a brief 5-4 lead. Bakir Cleveland and Kyle Marion would trade triples and it was 13-12 in favor of the visitors from PA. The game would be tied at 19 at the 12:36 mark of the first half before Lincoln would run off five straight points. Another Marion triple cut the Rollins deficit to two (24-22.)  The Rollins Tars welcome the Lincoln University (PA) Lions to Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center on Wednesday night. The Tars come into this evening's contest with a 0-1 record while the Tigers come in with a 1-1 mark. Despite being in control late the Tars could not hang on late in regulation and ultimately fell. Rollins Outlasted by Spring Hill In Overtime.

 The Rollins College Tars had an eight point lead late in regulation but could not hang on as they would ultimately fall 65-63 in overtime at Warden Arena Saturday afternoon. The Badgers improve to 1-1 after losing to Florida Tech on Friday. Rollins falls to 0-1 following the defeat. The two teams would go back and forth in the early going, after a Cody Potter jumper just under six minutes in the Tars held a 13-12 edge. Trailing 21-16 Rollins would go on a 8-0 run as Sergey Grishaev and Jaden Frazier would provide buckets in the paint gave Rollins the lead.  Braxton Barnhizer would hit a shot to cap the 8-0 win and gave Rollins a 24-21 lead with 6:15 to go in the opening half. Rollins Set To Host Spring Hill In Season Opener.

 The Rollins College Tars coming off a 15-15 season last year will open the 2023-24 campaign tomorrow (11/11) when they take on the Spring Hill College Badgers at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center. You can catch all the action on the Rollins College radio network at 91.5 FM WPRK Winter Park with Jim "Shooter" Ferro and Robert Segal. Tip time is set for 1:30 PM.   Tom Klusman returns for his 43rd year on the sidelines for the Tars. Klusman comes into the season with an overall record of 746-471. The Tars lose a key cog from the offense the last couple of years in Hutton Yenor but return plenty of firepower.
