Rollins Nips Tech On The Road.

 The Rollins College Tars ran their win streak to five as they nipped Florida Tech 67-65 Saturday at the Clemente Center in Melbourne. With the win Rollins is now 12-9 and 7-6 in the SSC. The Panthers fell to 9-9 and 3-7 in the SSC after the defeat.   After Hutton Yenor scored the first basket of the game the Panthers would reel off the next 10 points as a Sean Houpt 3-pointer gave them a 10-2 lead nearly three minutes in. It was 16-10 in favor of Tech nearly four minutes later. It was 31-18 FIT with under five to go in the first half. After being down 36-24 the Tars would score the last nine points of the half capped by a Kyle Marion 3-pointer that cut the Panthers lead to 36-33. The Tars shot 38 percent from the floor and 33 percent (5-15) from the 3-point line in the opening half. Rollins Looks To Remain Hot As They Travel To Melbourne.

 The Rollins Tars (11-9 6-6 SSC) look to stay on a current four game hot streak when they travel to the Clemente Center in Melbourne to take on the Florida Tech Panthers (9-8 3-9 SSC) on Saturday. Tip time is slated for 4 PM. Fourth Straight Win Is Upset Of #23 ERAU.

 The Rollins Tars have now won four straight as they upset #23 Embry Riddle 89-82 at the ICI Center on Wednesday night. With the win the Tars are now 11-9 and have evened their conference mark at 6-6. The Eagles fall to 15-5 and 8-3 in the SSC.   Brooks Cluxton led four Tars in double figures with a game high 25 points to go along with 11 rebounds, six assists, and a block. Hutton Yenor tallied 22 including going seven of seven at the charity stripe to go with four assists and a pair of steals, Kyle Marion added 20 points and two steals, while Dayton Gumm had 11 points, six rebounds, and four assists.   Cluxton and Marion got the tars off to a 6-0 start before the Eagles cut it to 8-6. Gumm hit a 3-pointer and Cluxton scored to make it 15-10 Tars at the 13:17 mark of the half. Tars Roll As They Run Win Streak To Three.

 The Rollins College Tars rolled past the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish 88-65 as they made it three straight wins and this time they did not need overtime. Hutton Yenor led five Rollins players in double figures with 19 points, Brooks Cluxton tallied 18 and a career high 18 rebounds, Dayton Gumm added 14, Cade Long netted 11, and Kyle Marion scored 10. With the win Rollins improved to 10-9 and 5-6 in the SSC.   The Sailfish fell to 5-12 and 5-6 in the SSC as Marcus Montalvo scored 21 points to lead the way, Jakob Hester added 16, and Jalen Cooper chipped in nine.   The two teams would play every for the first five minutes, and Rollins would lead 12-10 before a Dayton Gumm 3-pointer at the 14:53 mark of the opening half. Tars Host PBA Saturday.

 The Rollins College Tars will host the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center on Saturday. Jim "Shooter' Ferro and Robert Siegel will be on the call on 91.5 FM WPRK and on the Sunshine State Digital Network. Tip time is slated for 4 PM.   The Tars (9-9 4-6 SSC) are coming off of back to back overtime wins in the last seven days. They defeated Saint Leo last Saturday on the road 90-83 before picking up a 84-81 win in overtime at home against Eckerd on Wednesday night. In the win on Wednesday night the Tars had four players score in double figures paced by Kyle Marion's 28 points. Hutton Yenor netted 22 and joined the 1,000 point club in the contest. Rollins Knocks Off Eckerd In OT As Yenor Joins 1,000 point Club.

 For the second consecutive game the Rollins Tars were a winner in overtime, as they knocked off Eckerd College 84-81 on Wednesday night at Warden Arena. Hutton Yenor also joined the 1,000 point club in the contest. With the win Rollins improves to 9-9 and 4-6 in the SSC. Eckerd falls to 2-11 and 0-10 in the SSC.  Four Tars scored in double figures paced by Kyle Marion with 28, and four steals while Hutton Yenor netted 22. Cade Long and Brooks Cluxton each tallied 14 points as well in the win.  Hutton Yenor scored 28 points and Kyle Marion scored 25 as the Rollins Tars picked up a 90-83 overtime win over Saint Leo at the Father Marion Bowman Activities Center on Saturday. With the win Rollins improves to 8-9 and 3-6 in the SSC. After the loss the Lions fall to 6-9 and 2-6 in the SSC.  It was Saint Leo who jumped out to a 13-2 lead to start this one. It was 22-6 Lions after a Wade Coomer 3-pointer at the 12:32 mark of the opening half. The Lions led 29-14 before a 7-0 Tars run cut the lead back to single digits. Three Tars Score In Double Figures In Loss At Tampa.

 The Rollins Tars got 22 points from Hutton Yenor, Kyle Marion added 16, and Cade Long had 15 in a 86-77 loss at the University of Tampa Wednesday night. With the loss Rollins falls to 7-9 and 2-6 in the SSC. Tampa improves to 10-3 and 6-2 in the SSC.  The Tars shot 44 percent from the field, 38 percent from the 3-point line (12-32) and 1-2 at the free throw line. They had 19 assists and eight turnovers in the contest.   Max Jones poured in a game high 30 points to lead the Spartans, Martin Lakovic put up 23 and grabbed 11 rebounds, while Derrick Felder had 20 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists. Marion Scores 35 For Undermanned Tars.

 The Rollins Tars were coming off a big win on the road at Florida Southern on Friday. The new year dealt the Tars a tough blow at shoot around Sunday when the Tars learned they would have just eight available players after a player for Florida Southern tested positive on Friday. That was too much for the Tars to overcome Sunday as they fell 81-60 to Lynn at Warden Arena. With the win Lynn improved to 8-3 overall and 2-3 in the SSC, while Rollins fell to 7-7 and 2-4 in the SSC after the loss.   Marion scored 35 points for the Tars in this one as he went 12-24 from the field, 6-10 from the 3-point line and a perfect five of five at the free throw line.
