Rollins Falls To Lynn In Season Finale.

 The Rollins College Tars needed a win on Saturday to get into the NCAA South Region being seeded eighth and fell 83-60 to Lynn University in the season finale. The Tars were paced by Hutton Yenor with 22 points, Brooks Cluxton scored 19 and Kyle Marion added 12.   Rollins led 12-8 after a Yenor jumper. A Christian Peevy 3-pointer at the 11:47 mark of the opening half put the Fighting Knights on top. Marion answered and the lead changed hands again. After a Dayton Gumm. Lynn would go up 33-24 after Jamison Evans hit a 3-pointer at the 3:44 mark of the opening stanza. The Tars would pull to within three (36-33) after a Marion basket as the teams headed to their perspective locker rooms. The Tars shot 50 percent from the field and went 1-7 from the 3-point line in the opening stanza. They shot 80 percent (8-10) from the free throw line. Rollins Closes Regular Season In Boca.

 The Rollins College Tars will close the regular season Saturday when they travel to Boca Raton to take on the Lynn University Fighting Knights at the De Hoernle Sport and Cultural Center. Rollins currently sits in eighth place in the latest South Region rankings released Wednesday (Top eight teams qualify.) The game is scheduled to tip at 4 PM.  The final week of Sunshine State Conference regular season play begins today. Rollins has the night off and is now seeded eighth in the region after a pair of losses to Tampa and Nova Southeastern last week.They close the regular season at Lynn on Saturday. Tars Come Up Short At NSU.

 The Rollins College Tars hung with the #1 team in the nation for most of the day but ultimately it was the Sharks who came away with the 79-73 win. Nova Southeastern improves to 23-0 and 17-0 in the SSC after the win. Rollins fell to 14-13 and 9-10 in the SSC after the loss.   NSU jumped out to a 7-0 lead to start the contest. After a Johnathan Pierre 3-pointer NSU took a 18-6 lead. The Tars got to within seven (20-13) after a Yenor jumper at the 11:05 mark of the first half. Down 25-16 Rollins would get a jumper by Yenor, a 3-pointer by Cade Long,  triple by Kyle Marion,  a 3-ball by Yenor and a Long layup to take a 29-25 lead with 4:04 in the half. Long hit a 3-pointer and a jumper by Yenor gave the Tars a 34-27 lead with 2:22 in the opening stanza.  The Rollins College Tars will take on the top team in the country when they travel to the Don Taft University Center to face the Nova Southeastern University Sharks. Four Tars Score In Double Figures In Loss to Tampa.

 The Rollins College Tars had four players score in double figures but it was not enough as they fell 87-77 to the University of Tampa at Warden Arena on Wednesday night. With the loss Rollins falls to 14-12 and 9-9 in the SSC. After the victory Tampa improves to 14-8 and 9-7 in the SSC.   Kyle Marion got Rollins on the board first, they got a bucket from Brooks Cluxton, and another from Hutton Yenor to take a 8-5 lead early on. After a Dayton Gumm layup at the 16:07 mark of the half Rollins had a 12-9 advantage. Bryan Williams would then hit four straight triples and the Spartans would be ahead 21-14 with 10:27 in the opening stanza. Rollins Uses Second Half Rally To Complete Season Sweep of Saint Leo.

 The Rollins College Tars played the Saint Leo Lions Saturday at Warden Arena. Rollins would come away with an 87-84 win that completed the season sweep of the Lions as they erased a 12 point halftime deficit. With the win Rollins improves to 14-11 and 9-8 in the SSC. Saint Leo falls to 10-13 and 5-11 in the SSC after the defeat.    Rollins jumped out to an 11-5 lead nearly three minutes into this one. After four straight Lions points the Tars would go on a 11-0 run as Sergey Grishaev hit a pair of 3-pointer's as well as one by Cade Long, Brooks Cluxton also had a bucket during the stretch as Rollins led 22-9 with 13:52 in the opening stanza. Marion, Yenor Combine For 55 As Tars Fall At Eckerd.

 The Rollins Tars got a combined 55 points from Kyle Marion and Hutton Yenor but it was not enough as they fell 87-82 to Eckerd at the MCArthur Center on the campus of Eckerd College. With the win Eckerd improves to 5-14 and 3-10 in the SSC. Rollins falls to 13-11 and 8-8 in the conference with the loss.   Rollins jumped out to an 11-4 lead after a Marion 3-pointer at the 16:39 mark of the opening frame. After a Sergey Grishaev jumper 3:06 later the lead was 11 (21-10.) The Tritons would responded with a 15-0 run that gave them a 25-21 lead after a pair of Daniel Love free throws with 9:20 in the opening half. Tars Get Back In Win Column As They Upset #22 Barry Again!

 The Rollins College Tars did it again. They completed the season sweep of #22 Barry as they ended the game on a 6-0 run to come away with a 80-75 win at the Sport and Health Center in Miami Shores. With the win Rollins improves to 13-10 and 8-7 in the SSC. Barry after the loss falls to 14-5 and 9-5 in the SSC.   Both teams got off to a slow start offensively as the first basket of the game did not occur until a layup by Justinas Marcinkevicius but the Tars got a dunk by Dayton Gumm to get on the board them. Sergey Grishaev knocked down a 3-pointer to give Rollins a 13-11 lead nearly seven minutes in. Nick Anderson would answer with back to back 3-pointer's for Barry and the Bucs took a six point lead halfway through the opening stanza. Tars Win Streak Snapped At Five.

 The Rollins Tars came into Wednesday riding high on a five game win streak. They could not extend it to six as they fell 81-77 to Florida Southern at Warden Arena, as the Mocs gained the split in the season series. Rollins with the loss falls to 12-10 and 7-7 in the SSC. Florida Southern improves to 10-12 and 7-7 in the SSC after the victory.   The Tars scored the first five points of the game on a Brooks Cluxton basket and a 3-pointer by Kyle Marion. Another Marion 3-pointer at the 15:10 mark of the first half gave the Tars a 12-8 lead. Rollins would extend the lead to double digits (22-12) after Hutton Yenor split a pair of free throws at the 11:52 mark of the opening half.
