Rollins Travels To #2 Nova Southeastern In Regular Season Finale

 The Rollins College Tars (16-12 9-10 SSC) travel to take on the #2 Nova Southeastern University Sharks (26-1 18-1 SSC) at Rick Case Arena inside the Don Taft University Center. Tip time is slated for 4 PM and you can catch all the action on SunshineStateConference.TV with Robert Segal and Jim "Shooter' Ferro on the call. The Sharks have clinched the regular season SSC Champion and the #1 seed in the SSC tournament that begins next week. Rollins currently sits in seventh place and will most likely face either #2 seed Florida Southern or #3 seed Lynn (The Mocs would need to lose and Lynn to win tomorrow) for the seeds to flip flop.   Rollins has lost two straight and is coming off a 93-79 loss to Florida Southern. Rollins Falls After Cold Shooting Second Half on Senior Night

 The Rollins College Tars and Florida Southern Moccasins did battle at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center on Wednesday night. Prior to the game three players from Rollins were honored prior to what would be their final home game in WinterPark. Beau Frericks, Sergey Grishaev, and Braxton Barnhizer each started on señior night. A spirited crowd filled up Warden Arena but it was Florida Southern that came away with the 93-79 win. With the loss Rollins falls to 16-12 and 9-10 in the SSC. The Tars in the process fall to seventh place in the SSC. The Mocs improve to 22-7 and 13-6 in the SSC. They remain in a tie with Lynn for second place in the conference (FSC holds the tiebreaker.) Senior Sendoff. Rollins Takes On Florida Southern In Pivotal SSC Contest Wednesday

 The Rollins College Tars (16-11 9-9 SSC) will celebrate senior day Wednesday (2/26) and will also play in a pivotal SSC matchup with the Florida Southern Moccacasins (21-7 12-6 SSC) at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center. The Tars are coming off a tough 90-87 loss on the road to Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday that came down to the games final minute. Nickson And ERAU Outlast Tars

 It is not March yet, but everything about Saturday's matchup between the Embry-Riddle Eagles and Rollins College Tars on Saturday gave March vibes at the ICI Center in Daytona Beach. The crowd was engaged all night and ultimately the Eagles behind the sharp shooting of Dru Nickson outlasted the Tars 90-87. With the win the Eagles improved to 17-9 and 11-7 in the SSC. Rollins fell to 16-11 and 9-9 in the SSC.   The Eagles jumped out to a 7-0 lead after a Nickson layup more than two minutes in. Rollins went on a 8-0 run of their own as a John Latimer triple gave the Tars a 8-7 lead in the early stages of this one. ERAU would then go on a 16-3 run to take a 23-10 lead after a Dawson Barr three at the 12:50 mark of the first half. Taking Care Of Business. Tars Back In Win Column

 The Rollins College Tars came into Wednesday's home game with Eckerd needing a win and they did just that with a 88-75 win over Eckerd at Warden Arena to snap a brief two game losing streak. John Larimer paced the Tars with 22, Beau Frericks and Emillis Butkus each tallied 18, and Ian Hart tallied 10 in the win. Sergey Grishaev led the team with 14 rebounds. With the win Rollins improved to 16-10 and 9-8 in the SSC. Eckerd falls to 11-15 and 6-12 in the SSC. "Any win in this league is a good win," Rollins assistant coach Kyle Frakes mentioned in his on court interview postgame.   Both teams were slow getting started on offense in the early going before a 3-pointer by Wyatt Triestman got Eckerd on the board. Five Score In Double Digits As Rollins Falls In Boca.

 The Rolins College Tars and the Lynn University Fighting Knights met Saturday in a potential preview of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament Quarterfinals. If the season ended Saturday the third seed Lynn would face the sixth seeded Tars. Saturday five Tars scored in double figures at the De'Hoernle Center but they feel 94-84 to the Fighting Knights on senior day in Boca Raton. With the loss Rollins falls to 15-10 and 8-8 in the SSC. Lynn improves to 16-7 and 11-6 in the SSC after the win.   Rollins led 9-4 early on after a Beau Frerikcs jumper  and a Matus Malovec triple at the 17:06 mark of the opening half.  The Rollins College Tars (15-9 8-7 SSC) look to start a new win streak on Saturday (2/15) as they travel to Boca Ration to take on the Lynn University Fighting Knights (15-7 10-6 SSC) at the De'Hoernle Center. Rollins Win Streak Halted At Saint Leo

 There was a time when the Rollins College Tars could just show up at a gym and they would defeat the Saint Leo Lions, or so it seemed. As evidenced by the 28 game win streak the Tars had over the Lions at the turn of the century. This season that has not been the case. In the first meeting in Winter Park Rollins needed some late game heroics from John Latimer to secure a two point win. On. Wednesday night they were not as fortunate as they fell 80-65 at the Mario Bowman Activities Center on the campus of Saint Leo. Rollins falls to 15-9 and 8-7 in the SSC as they see a four game win streak snapped, while Saint Leo improves to 10-14 and 5-11 in the SSC.   Rollins would score the first five points of the  game and led 18-9 after a put back by Ian Hart at the 11:21 mark of the first half. Rollins Routs Tampa To Split Season Series And Win Fourth Straight.

 The Rollins College Tars and the University of Tampa Spartans did battle on Saturday at Warden Arena. Rollins came into Saturday seeking revenge after a seven point loss a little over a month ago and they did just that in a 95-78 rout of the Spartans. With a fourth straight win and seventh in the past nine contests Rollins improves to 15-8 and 8-6 in the SSC. Tampa falls to 14-9 and 6-9 in the SSC as they lost a fourth straight game.  Rollins had five players score in double figures in the win. Tampa had just two players score in double figures in the loss. Both teams got off to a slow start as it was Beau Frericks who got Rollins on the board with a layup 1:21 in. After a pair of free throws by Kaden Froebe the Spartans had an 11-7 lead at the 15:43 mark of the first half.  The Rollins College Tars (14-8 7-6 SSC) seek revenge on the University of Tampa Spartans (14-8 6-8 SSC) after a 99-92 loss just over a month ago at the Martinez Sports Complex. This time the Spartans will come to Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center. Finding A Way To Win. Rollins Sneaks Past Florida Tech.

 The Rollins College Tars and Florida Tech Panthers met for the second time this season on Wednesday at Warden Arena. The game tonight was nothing like the first meeting between the two teams but the result was the same, a Rollins win. "It wasn't our best effort but we found a way to win," Rollins assistant coach Kyle Frakes said in his postgame interview with Robert Segal and Jim "Shooter" Ferro. Rollins got 17 points from John Latimer and Emillis Butkus while Sergey Grishav added 14 points and 11 rebounds in the 71-69 win. Rollins improved to 14-8 on the year and 7-6 in the SSC.  The Rollins College Tars (13-8 6-6 SSC) winners of two straight and five of the last seven contests look to stay hot as they welcome the Florida Tech Panthers (4-17 1-12 SSC) to Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center tomorrow (Wednesday 2/5.) Latimer Returns In Rollins Upset Of PBA

 The Rollins College Tars had lost five straight and 10 out of the last 11 meetings with the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish. The Tars exercised some demons and John Latimer returned after missing a pair of games with an injury. Rollins would ultimately walk out of Rubin Arena with a 73-69 win Saturday. With the win Rollins improves to 13-8 overall and got to back to .500 (6-6) in the SSC. PBA fell to 15-6 and 8-5 in the SSC after a third straight loss.  In a game that featured 14 ties and 19 lead changes it started on the see-saw right from the jump. Rollins led 8-5 early after a Beau Frericks triple, but the next five points went to the Sailfish as they led 10-8. After a three-point play by Latimer at the 9:46 mark of the first half Rollins led 19-17. The see-saw continued as it would be PBA that led 24-21 after a Josh Ward layup with 6:17 in the half.
