Road Warriors. Seventh Seeded Rollins Upsets Second Seeded Saint Leo In The SSC Quarterfinals on Tuesday Night!

 As the old adage goes it is not easy to win basketball games in the post season whether it be at home or on the road. Somebody forgot to tell the Rollins College Tars. Rollins jumped out to a 13-4 lead early and never looked back as they upset Saint Leo 76-66 in the SSC Quarterfinals on Tuesday night. With the win Rollins improved to 15-14 on the season. More impressively the Tars are now 8-4 on the road this season, as they have now handed the Saint Leo Lions two of the teams four losses inside the Marion Bowman Activities Center. After the loss the Lions fall to 22-10 and await to hear if they made the NCAA South Region when the bracket is released on Sunday evening. Seventh Seeded Rollins Looks To Play Spoiler In The SSC Quarterfinals Tuesday.

  The seventh seeded Rollins College Tars (14-14 10-10 SSC) will look to win for the second team in three meetings against the second seeded Saint Leo Lions (22-9 13-7 SSC) to begin the SSC Tournament Tuesday night. Being the higher seed Saint Leo will be the hosts of this one. Yenor Scores 30 on Senior Day As Sailfish Reel In The Tars.

 The Rollins College Tars got 30 points from Hutton Yenor on Senior Day and saw a 16 point lead as well as a nine point halftime lead disappear in a 94-87 loss to Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday at Warden Arena. With the loss Rollins concludes the regular season with a record of 14-14 and 10-10 in the SSC. PBA improves to 14-12 and 10-10 in the SSC with the win.   Rollins trailed 5-2 in the early going but they would get 3-pointer's from Cade Long, John Latimer, and Yenor to take a 11-5 lead at the 16:42 mark of the opening half. The Sailfish would battle back and tie the game at 13 after Alexa Rakic 3-pointer at the 15:18 mark of the opening stanza. Rollins would go on a 12-0 run capped by a Kyle Marion triple that made it 25-13 at the 13:01 mark of the first stanza. Rollins Takes On PBA At Home Which Is Also Senior Day In Winter Park.

 The Rollins College Tars (14-13 10-9 SSC) take on the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish (13-12 9-10 SSC) at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center. The senior class will be honored prior to the contest.   Rollins scores 79.8 points per game which is sixth in the Sunshine State Conference. On the defensive end the Tars are ninth as they give up 81 points per night. Rollins is third in field goal percentage shooting at a 48.2 percent clip from the floor while the opposition shoots 44.8 percent which puts them sixth in the conference on the defensive end. Late Rally Pushes Rollins Past ERAU.

 The Rollins College Tars used a late rally to knock off the Embry-Riddle Eagles 78-74 at the ICI Center on Wednesday night. With the win Rollins improves to 14-13 and 10-9 in the SSC. ERAU falls to 17-9 and 10-9 in the SSC after the defeat.   Both teams got off to slow start offensively. Rollins would finally get on the board after a John Latimer 3-pointer at the 17:58 mark. Yenor hit back to back jumpers to pull Rollins within four (11-7) at the 16:02 mark of the first half. The next six points went to the Eagles before a Cam Corcoran triple made it 17-10 ERAU with 11:47 left in the opening half. Down 24-15 at the 7:59 mark Rollins went on a 6-0 run and trailed 24-21 after a Yenor jumper with 5:30 until halftime.  The Rollins College Tars (13-13 9-9 SSC) are set to battle the Embry-Ridde Eagles (17-8 10-8 SSC) on Wednesday night in Daytona Beach at the ICI Center. Tars Slip past Tritons As Silveira Leads Way.

 Matheus Silveria scored 24 points on 10-11 shooting while he also added 10 rebounds and five blocks as the Rollins College Tars slipped past the Eckerd College Tritons 82-76 at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center on Saturday. With the win Rollins improves to 13-13 and 9-9 in the SSC. Eckerd falls to 9-15 and 6-12 in the SSC after the loss.   The two teams traded blows in the early going until Eckerd would take a 13-7 lead after a pair of Carr Thiem free throws at the 14:47 mark of the opening half. Rollins would battle back and knot the game at 17 after a pair of Hutton Yenor baskets. After Cade Long made a pair of free throws and a layup by John Latimer Rollins took a 21-17 lead with 8:24 to go until halftime. Silviera would go to work in the paint but Thiam and Mekhi Perry would hit back to back triples to give the Tritons a 32-28 lead. Three Tally Double Figures As Rollins Falls At Home To Saint Leo.

 Three Rollins College Tars (12-13 8-9 SSC) scored in double figures but it was not enough as the Saint Leo Lions (19-9 10-7 SSC) knocked off Rollins 89-75. Rollins was paced by Hutton Yenor with 17, Jon Latimer came off the bench to score 16, and Matheus Silveira tallied 12.   Kanon Koster poured in 35 points to lead the Lions, Marty Jackson added 29, and Logan Ryan chipped in nine.   The lead changed hands several times in the first seven minutes until Rollins got back to back baskets by Latimer off the bench to take a 16-13 lead. Latimer knocked down a triple to extend the lead to 19-15 at the 11:11 mark of the first half.  The Rollins College Tars got 22 points, 9 rebounds, and four assists from Hutton Yenor while Kyle Marion added 20 in a 78-73 win over Lynn that completed the season sweep of the Fighting Knights in Boca Raton. With the win Rollins improves to 12-12 overall and 8-8 in the SSC. Lynn lost a seventh straight contest as they fall to 4-18 and 2-15 in the SSC.   Lynn jumped out to a 13-4 lead early in this one. Rollins trailed 20-7 before they went on a 5-0 run to get to within eight. Down 27-18 Rollins went on a 8-0 run to get to within a point (27-26) after a pair of Yenor layups. Rollins took the lead on a Marion 3-pointer with 2:44 in the opening stanza. Rollins Furious Rally Forces Overtime As They Fall To Mocs In OT For Second Time.

 It did not look like the Rollins College Tars were going to have a chance to win late on Wednesday night at Florida Southern. But the Tars who rallied from six points down with 45 seconds left in regulation could not carry the momentum into overtime and fell 124-113 at Jenkins FieldHouse. Rollins falls to 11-12 and 7-8 in the SSC after the defeat. The Mocs improved to 16-7 and 10-6 in the SSC as they completed the season sweep of Rollins.   The Tars had five players score in double figures on Wednesday.  The Rollins College Tars (11-11 7-7 SSC) had three players score in double figures but it was not enough in a 88-78 loss to the Barry Buccaneers (8-11 4-10 SSC) at Warden Arena on Saturday. Tars Cruise To Home Win.

 The Rollins College Tars (11-10 7-6 SSC) had four players score in double figures as they cruised to a 75-60 win over the University of Tampa at Warden Arena. Hutton Yenor led Rollins with 19 points, nine rebounds, and a team leading five steals. Matheus Silveira added 16, Cade Long scored 14, and Kyle Marion added 12 to go along with five assists. Tampa (7-12 6-7 SSC) was paced by Mykah Brown with 21 and Jonathan Bryant added 15.  Rollins took control early in this one as they scored the games first 11 points.
