Rollins Seeks Season Sweep Of Tampa Wednesday.

 The Rollins College Tars (10-10 6-6 SSC) seek the season sweep of the University of Tampa (7-11 6-6 SSC) on Wednesday night. Big Second Half Powers Rollins Past Florida Tech.

 The Rollins College Tars used a big second half on both ends of the floor to outscore Florida Tech 38-24 and ultimately pull away for an 81-60 win at the Clemente Center. With the win Rollins improves to 10-10 and 6-6 in the SSC. The Panthers fall to 14-7 and 7-6 in the conference.   Rollins scored the games first four points before the next five went the way of the Panthers. Then the see-saw battle ensued until a 6-0 Tars run capped by a Kyle Marion jumper made it 14-9 in favor of the visitors. The Tars stretched the lead to eight (25-17) on a Cody Potter 3-pointer with 8:50 to go until halftime. Back to back 3 pointers, the latter by Sean Houpt trimmed the Rollins lead to two (25-23.)  The Rollins College Tars will head to Melbourne to take on the Florida Tech Panthers as they seek a split of the season series with the Panthers. #2 Nova Southeastern Makes Short Work Of Rollins.

 The #2 Nova Southeastern University Sharks dominated the Rollins College Tars for the second time this season. This time the Sharks came away with a 98-55 win. NSU improves to 19-0 and 12-0 in the SSC. They are still one of two remaining undefeated teams in the country. Rollins falls to 9-10 and 5-6 in the SSC.   Nova scored the first five points before Rollins got the next four on a Matheus Silveira dunk and a jumper by Kyle Marion. Rollins would not score again until the 8:37 mark of the first half as a layup by Silveira made it 19-6 NSU. The Sharks would pour it on and take a 47-15 lead into halftime.   Rollins would get a Hutton Yenor 3-pointer to start the second half. The NSU lead would grow to 41 (63-22) at the 16:18 mark. Rollins Set To Battle #2 Nova Southeastern On The Road.

 The Rollins College Tars (9-9 5-5 SSC) travel to #2 Nova Southeastern (18-0 11-0 SSC) to take on the Sharks at Rick Case Arena Wednesday night. Rollins Routs Warner.

 The Rollins Tars improved to 9-9 on the season with a 91-55 rout of the Warner Royals at Warden Arena on Friday night. Hutton Yenor led four players in double figures with 22 points, Matheus Silveira added 17, while both Sergey Grishaev and Cade Long tallied 12. Jaden Frazier had a team leading 15 rebounds in the contest.    The two teams got off to a slow start on offense as the game was knotted at eight six and a half minutes into this one. Rollins then went on a 10-0 run as Yenor scored the last five points of the run including a 3-pointer to make it an 18-8 game with 9:47 in the opening half. After a 3-pointer by Joseph Martz the Royals were within four (20-16) with seven minutes to go in the opening half. Rollins Beats Saint Leo As They Play Second Straight Overtime Game.

 For the second straight game the Rollins College Tars played 40 minutes and the game had not been decided. On Wednesday night the Tars needed an extra five minutes but they came up with a 98-95 win at Saint Leo. In a game that featured 12 ties and 18 lead changes Rollins had four players score in double figures in the victory. With the win Rollins improves to 8-9 and 5-5 in the SSC. Saint Leo falls to 13-7 and 5-5 in conference play.   Rollins jumped out to a 13-6 lead after a pair of Sergey Grishaev free throws at the 16:03 mark of the opening half. Rollins would hold the lead until midway through the frame as a Ryan Logan 3-pointer would put the Lions on top 25-24.  The Rollins College Tars (7-9 4-5 SSC) make the short trip to Saint Leo to battle the Saint Leo University Lions (13-6 5-4 SSC) on Wednesday night. Tars Tripped Up By #18 Florida Southern In Overtime.

 The Rollins College Tars and #18 Florida Southern College Moccasins have played many classic games in the long storied rivalry of the two schools. Saturday was no different as the Mocs would withstand a last second attempt by Rollins in regulation and come away with a 111-106 victory.   Rollins (7-9 4-5 SSC) was led by Matheus Silveira who went 15 of 17 from the floor on his way to a game high 31 points and seven rebounds in 32 minutes of action. Hutton Yenor added 27, Kyle Marion scored 20, and Cade Long tallied 12 in the defeat. Marion Returns As Tars Pick Up Second Straight Win.

 For the second straight game the Rollins College Tars got a key piece back in the lineup and it was the difference. Wednesday night it was Kyle Marion who returned and scored 20 points in a come from behind 81-72 win at Warden Arena. With the win Rollins improves to 7-8 and 4-4 in the Sunshine State Conference. Lynn falls to 3-11 and 1-8 in the SSC.   The first four points were scored by Lynn before Matheus Silveira got Rollins on the board.  The Rollins College Tars got back Hutton Yenor on Saturday in Tampa. Despite going just 5-15 from the field for 16 points Rollins came away with a 71-66 win at the Bob Martinez Sports Center. Cade Long also scored 16, John Latimer added 12, Cody Potter and Matheus Silveira chipped in 11. With the win Rollins improves to 6-8 and 3-5 in the SSC.   Tampa was led by Jesse White with 15- Mykah Brown added 13, and De'Andre Harvey added 11. With the loss Tampa falls to 5-8 and 4-3 in the SSC.   Rollins got off to a rough start as they did not score in the games first five minutes. It was 7-0 Tampa after that slow start. John Latimer made a pair of free throws to get the Tars on the board. The cold shooting continued for both teams as Tampa led 14-6 halfway through the opening half.  It is hard enough to play the #2 team in the country when they are playing as well as the second ranked Nova Southeastern Sharks are playing. It's even harder when you are in the position the Rollins College Tars are without two key pieces of the squad. Both Kyle Marion and Hutton Yenor missed Wednesday's game with injuries and #2 Nova Southeastern (13-0 6-0 SSC) rolled against Rollins College (5-8 2-4 SSC) 100-58 at Warden Arena.   Cade Long led the Tars with 14 points, John Latimer added 11, and Sergey Grishaev tallied 10 in the defeat. Three In Double Digits As Rollins Falls At Home.

 For whatever reason can't quite take advantage of the home court advantage at Warden Arena in the 2022-23 season. After leading by five at halftime, the Tars fell 71-61 to Florida Tech as they dropped to 2-3 at home for the year. With the loss Rollins who had three players score in double figures fell to 5-7 and 2-3 in the SSC. The Panthers improved to 11-3 and 4-2 in the SSC after the victory.   The two teams went back and forth in the early going. After a Sesan Russell 3-pointer at the 16:35 mark Florida Tech had an 8-5 advantage. Over the next five minutes Florida Tech would not score a point as Rollins would go on a 9-0 run to take a 14-8 lead after a layup by John Latimer.
